Right, exams are over and I am a little bored organizing my cellphone game collection so I am back to watching anime and first up on my current list is 07 Ghost which looks great so far although the story looks rather simple (and a little tragic with a very possible best friend VS best friend fight to the death somewhere down the line). It's got great potential I have noticed a trend where the more german an anime has in it the better it is and so far 07 Ghost fits the bill and to this date NGE has been the only exception from the rule so providing the ending is any good it should be great show.

Well finished Valkyria Chronicles and loved it this is one of my favorites :). Same goes to Tears to Tiara i loved it (i excepected no less from Aquaplus since they made Utawarerumono as well) this goes to my favorites as well as the fact that Octavia may just become my favorite female character:

Well I am halfway through the second ep of 07 Ghost and things don't look so good anymore XD, or rather the guys behind it just made some naming mistakes which will hamper my enjoyment a little (or rather make me laugh when I should not be laughing).

There's a pretty boy action junky called Frau...which in german means Woman....then there's a guy called Labrador which is wrong for obvious reasons and then there's a nun called Libelle which in german equals Dragonfly...so now the whole thing sounds a bit like a zoo...

Watching Kiddy Girl-and made me want to watch a bit of Kiddy Grade, and I was shocked to find it different from my expectations. It wasn't a fan-servicey anime and some stuff are rather interesting and entertaining. Prolly have to hunt for the DVD later.

Other Impressions:
Railgun: Finally, the little bits and pieces are going to start up a plot. That's good.
DTB2: Someone gets killed again.
Kobato: The cover of that book, it's like a crying face. Clever.
Bakemonogatari: Aw come on Shaft, give us a full shot of the kuronekomimi, you cheapskate.

Finished retrowatching Macross Frontier... that final part is like full of plotholes and wtf is with that open-ended ending? Alto should crawl into a ditch and die. Then Sheryl and Ranka can just go yuri with each other. Anyway, story not as good as the original Macross, and music nowhere as gripping as Macross 7.

Random watch:
Tokyo Mew Mew: No idea why I'm watching it. :O

You may want to cancel watching that...first of all it's just a (rather bad) Sailor Moon clone and secondly I think the show even ended up getting cancelled itself

But you've got to accept the eye candy standards are top notch. The final episodes are worth it just because of that, even if they are ridden with plotholes. And well, personally I enjoyed the music, And many people did as well. Way more than the original Macross 7, though personally it may be cause I never managed to like Basara. I hated Alto as much as you did though. :p

I liked Macross 7 more then any other in the series, but never the less i enjoyed Macross Frontier to imo it was a great anime and i liked the "last boss battle" XD.

Finished watching Tears to Tiara wonderful anime this just got promoted to my favs especially thanks to the great ending.

well truth be told it was nothing sophisticated it just was a happy merry ending without deaths and in witch all where happy.

Next up Munto TV

PS: hail Octavia :p

Bah, just got finnished with ep7 and 07 Ghost's placing has slowed to a crawl, so much so that I don't think they have enough eps left to finnish the show in a satisfactory manner but we shall see, it is afterall Studio Deen and pretty much everything they have been involved in that I have seen I greatly enjoyed.

Reached ep18 of 07 Ghost now and it's awesome, everything has been executed perfectly so far, unless the ending is going to be dismal this is easily one of my favourites though seeing as I am not getting any comments I see that's either well known or it's not been enable to entice anyone else to take the plunge though it should as it's easily the best Studio DEEN anime I have seen to date.
At this time it stands to surpass even Trinity Blood as my favourite supernatural anime, though the ending might still ruin it...but the ending of Trinity Blood is the reason why it's being so easily surpassed so the chances for 07 Ghost to surpass it are good.
Probably going to finnish it tomorrow.

I've been planning to watch that for a while but I haven't found the time. I will probably will do so during the holidays or something. My current favorite from Studio DEEN are Maria-sama ga miteru and Simoun IIRC, though Studio DEEN is not really one I follow with much interest.

i feel like watching a comedy anime.

can you guys recommend me something good that's like any of the following series:
Azumanga Daioh
Genshiken
Lucky Star
Ouran High School Host Club
School Rumble
Special A
Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge

the main requirement is that there's no ecchi (or very little), and no big love triangles (silly ones like the school rumble ones are fine).
or alternatively you can help me by just listing the funniest anime you've watched, and i'll look them up to see if i'll like them xD

If you don't mind reading some manga, there's one by the same author that did Azumanga Daioh, called Yotsubato. I just ordered all available volumes the other day, after just reading the first one, they are at 6.50 at buy.com. The series retains the same style of innocent humour that Azumanga Daioh did.

Alternatively on the anime, non sensical comedy ide there's Seto no Hanayome, which is "kind of" similar with School rumble. There's also this season's Seitokai no Ichizon, which has a similar parody based comedy to Lucky Star, only taken to the extreme. My personal favorite comedy though is Great Teacher Onizuka, which you might want to check out.

Maria Sama ga Miteru? Hmm, I only watched it a bit on Animax a while back, and I thought the Yuri theme is quite strong. Do you think there are other aspects of this anime that are good? What do you find interesting in this anime Proto?
It's not really a yuri series as much as it is a shoujo-ai/class s/romantic friendship type of series. The most powerful themes the series has is in the side of character relationships, which are very well handled, and the character development of some of the characters. Plot wise there isn't much to see, but the characters carry the series by themselves. I'd amply recommend this series to anyone who likes character oriented series, boy or girl with whatever romantic inclinations.

I agree with this. I haven't seen the other series, but I'd like to recommend Genshiken and Lucky Stars. Out of those two, I prefer Genshiken because well, you know, I prefer slice of life nowadays :).I enjoy Yotsubato very much (but only got to volume 6) and GTO is also a strong series and I recommend that. School rumble is very funny IMHO, though the non-sensical side of it is becoming less eppealing to me :p

I see. I guess I never got to notice it this much and somehow it just never crossed my mind again. I'll check it out later on. A friend of mine have this series, hope I can contact her again.

Yotsubato - don't want to read manga; it also probably wouldn't be as funny since i would be saying all the jokes with my 'voice' inside my head, instead of a voice-actor
Seto no Hanayome - watched 5 episodes and got bored. most of the 'humor' was ecchi/sexual humor which is what i dislike.
Seitokai no Ichizon - is this a harem? if so i probably wouldn't like it.
Great Teacher Onizuka - the whole idea of a guy becoming a school teacher to score with highschool chicks made me hate it; i couldn't get through the first episode... back in highschool i hated teachers that would go after the girl students. the anime also was full of ecchi humor..

in my first post i forgot to mention i dislike harem anime as well, unless its male harem which garantees less 'ecchi humor' (e.g. i enjoyed shows like ouran HS host club or Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge; hated stuff like Mahou Sensei Negima).
mainly i dislike ecchi in anime because if i wanted that i'd watch a hentai.

thanks for the suggestions though, but i think my tastes in comedy is too different than yours xD
