Well then the internet would be plagued with ads from websites. So that users may visit them.
If all the ads that you don't wanted to visit..actually I hate ads..

Actually without search engines, you will find people announcing about their websites in TV, Radio Streets, ...everywhere, just to sell stuff, Internet then will be only for educational/business purposes, besides you will hardly find secret societies like groups of hackers/crackers, warez, or emuforums losers..

Search applications did not wait for online search engines to exist, let alone turn popular.
Portals and directories didnt either. Anyone remembers Anipike and AnimePitstop, back in the days?

Free porn would be insanely difficult to track down without search engines.

If there was no google then we would all probably have to buy books similar to telephone books which would contain a large database of websites. I would guess that there would be two books. A 6000 page for porn and a 150 page for normal websites.

Surfing the Internet without a search engine is like going into a dark maze without a flash light or torch. Either way... it only helps you see ahead better.
