Well, there is a series with a pink haired mermaid, which is Seto no Hanayome if you are interested :p

And by the way... all the shows you listed are shounen shows, famous for being long-winded, filled with fillers :)p) and often going nowhere... maybe rather than taking a break from anime you need to change genres :p

edit: I've noticed that I tend to overuse the ':p' smilie. opinions? :p

wait, i think schumi gave me the wrong one
the one you mentioned is the show i was talking about

thanks proto :p

i know, i know.
thats why i'm trying to watch some more comedy anime now.

i like shounen/fighting anime, but watching too-much in a row == too much fillers!

there are some good shounen anime with no fillers like Busou Renkin, but i guess that's the minority.

You might also like D.Gray-man, another shounen show which has minimal fillers and even the fillers are good ^_^

I've practically been watching anime non stop for the last 7 years, however I tend to watch a mixture of genres so as to not overload my capacity.

Well Zero no Tsukaima has only come up like 30 times during the past few months so to me it was obvious thats what you were talking about.

No Schumi, I don't believe you. It is obvious that your intention was to mislead cottonvibes into watching one of your favorite series, Zero no Tsukaima instead of giving her correct information. Would you expect us to believe otherwise? *sheesh*

yeah thats another one i've been watching :p
i stopped because i had reached their latest-episode at the time. (this was a few months ago, i think episode ~75)
i need to pick it up again.

i've only been doing it non-stop for about 1~2 years, i need to catch up to you

I actually don't like it Proto...I would have no problem with it but I just can't take Louise's irrational behaviour...I can't stand it

pttff... too late to try to convince me. Since you are denying it so vehemently and the fact that you have recently passed me in post count lead me to believe you are actually into S&M :puke:

Either that or you live up to your fame of being too serious :p

Anyway, I guess I'll take a little rest of marathoning series and just stick to the series I'm watching week after week for the moment. Too much work :heh:

lol I never noticed XD, I noticed I passed Samor and HCR, but not you.

And the latter reason most definitely applies XD

Seen the finale yet?
Minmei is in it.
There's a Plus reference in it too, and a couple of other references I'll not prompt.

A FULL Mix of 12 songs?
The scope of the Finale makes it the best episode* (in my estimation) both in technical achievement and tributes to fans of the series in general.

Frontier is truly fitting for a 25th anniversary series, if you like the Original, you know this series was made for you.

*Of any episode of any series I've seen since 1989 when I started watching anime.

Hmm... I guess I'd better go and finish watching it, I kinda lost interest somewhere in the middle (more like I have a severe lack of free time these days :heh:). In any case my likings have shifted a lot since the times where I considered Macross the best series ever (these days I consider Legend of the Galactic Heroes to be the best space opera series for me, and even that ranks a distant 7 in my general ranking ^_^), so I don't expect myself to jump in joy and delight when I finish watching it, but I'm kinda curious anyway.

-----

Is anyone else following Shugo Chara? It's one of the best mahou shoujo type series that have been released as of late, so it's highly recommended for those who are searching for a dose of cutesy. By the people who made Rozen Maiden if that helps.

Well perhaps not everyone's cup of tea I admit, and I have a very soft spot for the series after being world #1 (and later world #2 having trained a successor) at a highly competitive online space fighter game, with a girlfriend who loved to sing whilst I flew at the time LOL

Frontier isn't bad at all, but IMO the original Macross is still the best by far. A shame, it had a lot of potential.

Speaking of LOGH, I need to catch-up on the sidestories.

Saw a few episodes. It was too slow and episodic for my tastes, so I dropped it. But I don't usually like Mahou Shoujo anyway.

Well... indeed it is a little slow. Not that it is a minus for me, I'm a fan of slow series, my favorite series ever (ARIA, Haibane Renmei, Figure 17) are considered very sluggish by many.

But anyway, for a more action packed "mahou shoujo" series, have you tried Nanoha?

I don't have a problem with slower-paced series, but the pacing plus the episodic nature of the series killed my interest very fast.

Since you like "slower" series, have you seen Turn-A Gundam?

Yup, already saw it. Second season is awesome, others are so-so.

(The "usually" in "I don't usually like Mahou Shoujo" is entirely due to Nanoha A').

And Macross Frontier wins the award for all time greatest anime to date.
i haven't watched it yet, but according to wikipedia i might like it; "Mecha, Romance, Space Opera, Real Robot"

from my experience Romance + Mecha, usually is a good combination.

Hmm... not really... I'm not big into the Gundam franchise :(
Try it. It's radically different from any other Gundam series, very slow-paced and character-driven. The setting is also quite unique, it starts in a country similar to early 20th century USA.

Here's a video with part of the first episode, should give you an idea of what I'm talking about:
YouTube - 01 ep 01 Part 3

Ironically enough my favorite Nanoha season is Striker's, which seems to be the most critically boo'ed :p
IMO Strikers would've been good if they shortened the series to 12 episodes. It looked to me as if they didn't have enough material for a longer season.
