Artemix,

you should set the "nloop hack" to the grey checkmark. grey means Auto, and black means Always On. the nloop hack is only for FFX, so it might cause errors in other games if you have it Always On.

So, from what I've gathered, DX10 mode of this plugin has a significant speed increase? As some posts indicates, even a 20% speed increase? if so...I'll have to add another reason for Vista(eventually...)

i tried dx9 w/ xp, and dx10 with x64 vista, and dx9 w/ xp was faster.

if you're going to get vista get the 32 bit one, i ended up deleting my x64 vista partition because it was crap, no drivers were compatible and it ran slower than xp.

i doubt anyone got a 20% speed increase between dx9 and dx10. when i tested dx9 and dx10 both in vista, i only saw about a 1-4 fps increase.

Mm, well, at the start of a topic, someone say a increase from 20 FPS(DX9) to 40 FPS using DX10, even if it was jsut for that game, I meant, it could be as high an increase as that? Still worth looking into it.

i play dbz bt 3, using dx9 is about 40-50fps and using dx10 60fps or more, thats more than 20% increase, for other games maybe have speed increase or maybe not, but dx10 have less graphical corruption also, anyway dx10 is better for me

the real question is, is gsdx w/ vista dx10 faster than gsdx w/ xp dx9?

i asked that a while back, and i believe the result was that xp w/ dx9 is faster. dx10 might speed up games, but vista slows them down. so upgrading from xp to vista w/ dx10 won't really improve your performance.

has anyone tested and can confirm this?
like i said, i tested, but i was using vista x64 which might have affected performance.

I've tryed to use Gsdx 10 on Vista Home Premium (My new OS) and I got an error that says something like : Gs Error or something like that and nothing happens :(

Sounds normal. X1550 doesn't support DX10. Use DX9 renderer.

Well, with the latest SP1 for Vista, performance I hear is only 5% less than XP(System wise)

So then, if you imagine using a bloatware remover, so it'd be stripped down to it's bones and the speed difference, then using DX10, the speed increase is nice.

But how can you say GDsx9 on either system is faster, he just said on XP he tried DX9 and DX10 and he got a great speed boost from DX10, there is the proof, so I'll just assume it does help with speeds and dual boot when my new HDD arrives. Thanks.

I've used vLite with Vista with latest build of SP1 and removed 3.8GB of useless stuff from it and when it was burnt onto DVD the capacity was only 1.14GB. I've got all unneeded services stopped etc. and it's still ~5% slower in average system wise but in some games on PCSX2 there can be a benefit by DX10 plugin but mostly Vista is slightly slower by about 5%.

DBZ3 Budokai Tenkaichi 3 like mentioned above I had only 3~5 fps more in Vista (45~50 in XP, 48~55 in Vista) than in XP comparing with an internal resolution 1600 x 1200 which is high enough to be GPU limited definitely not some 20%+ increase like mentioned above. I'm dualbooting Vista SP1 with tweaked XP SP3.

Well, I've read that Persona 3, and XenoSaga both run significantly faster in DX10, both of which games run ok right now, but not perfect FPS, so I'd hope DX10 could be my miracle fix, don't ruin it for me.

Yes Xenosaga games get some unusually huge speedboost by DX10 mode and if you get somewhat playable speeds in XP it will probably be playable in Vista in case CPU is fast enough too. Likewise games getting speed increases as much as Xenosaga are very few.

Persona 3 I haven't compared between Vista and XP, but it ran perfectly fine in XP for me already so.

Mm, that's what I mean, I'm excited about that^ They are playable, but if the FPS went up even 10 or 20 more, it'd rock. Not every game will benifit, but some will, so I generally see it as better to use Vista(For DX10)

I imagine many games we havn't tried in DX10 mode run much faster in it, and that is good.

3.0GHZ is as high as I can OC my Processor on my budget mobo, so for me, it's one of my only chances(For a few years) that is :p
