Which games are good for the DS? I dont like the new pokemon, it scared me. But i havnt really heard of that many new releases. Probably the best game i have seen was metroid but... my girlfriend has a DS so i may buy a game or 2 any suggestions?

I like Impossible Mission and Devilish, although I love retro and Impossible Mission was a Commodore 64 game and Devilish was a Sega Genesis game, Devilish is harder and a bit more complicated on the DS and Impossible Mission has 3 versions although both lack a lot of re-playability. Impossible Mission is a 2D platformer game with codes and puzzles and Devilish is like a hard version of Arkanoid/Breakout. Both games can be had for around $10-$15, I purchased Impossible Mission for $10 new off Electronics Boutique and *won* Devilish for ~$8 including shipping on EBay.

-New Super Mario
-Elite Beat Agents
-Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
-Professor Layton and the Curious Village
-FFIII
-Advance Wars
-Puzzle Quest
-FFIV when it comes out in english
-Revenant Wings
Isn't that on the Game Boy Advance already?

I supposable have it held to be picked up next Friday! My girlfriend is giving me a gift card to help pay for the game! :thumb:

yeah but that one is a slightly enhanced 2d version. in addition to that they have also made a 3d version of it for the ds, very similar in looks to the ds ff3. do any of you fools know the US release date for it?

Well I'll just be happy to have a ~ to the Super Nintendo version.

I liked the Super Nintendo version. I just want to finish the game. There are several Super Nintendo games I want to complete. ;)

Hmm, i dont know. zelda is already gotten, i played the new super mario, it was kinda fun but it began too bore me ( i want super mario RPG legend of the seven stars ported!) Advanced wars is a little boring too me, at least the gba version of the first one. not sure how different it is. May get FF3, i like the old games for snes. but i never actually played them long. Except 7 on ps1, almost finished the first disc and it cracked so i stopped playing, plus it was getting slow...

Bubbafat you wanna get ff6. FF3 is a remake of the original NES version. FF6 on the other hand is the one your remember from your childhood with terra, locke, edgar, sabin and kefka.

ff3 uses polygons in this remake but is far inferior storywise to ff6. FF6 isn't a DS game. Its a gameboy advanced game iirc. So I don't know what the 2nd screens purpose would be on a DS

Picross is pretty fun.

Dont forget the castlevania ones.
Hotel Dusk is a nice game im playing now.

the american snes version is the worst of all of the versions, its way too easy. either get the japanese hard type, dump the game and apply a translation patch and play it on an emulator (not very practical though, thats alot of effort for a single game) or get the gba version. there is a ps version that is a port of the hard type one but from what i remember it had bad loading times which sort of ruined it. the gba version has slightly enhanced 2d graphics and a totally revamped translation plus some extra stuff like a new sidequest or something. so if you dont dig the 3d style that is in the new ds version, then the gba version is probably the one you would want.

your getting ff3 mixed up with ff6 jonc. There was no snes version of ff3, that was a nintendo game.

THe polygonal DS remake was for ff3. FF6 was on the snes and rereleased on the ps1 with some video sequences.

i know that, the ds ff3 was a remake of the nes ff3. what did i say before? i must have made a typo or something. ff6 was released in america under the title "ff3". they did something similar with ff4, in america they released it as "ff2", while the real ff2 is actually for the nes. both the real ff2 and ff3 were never released here in the us until a few years ago.

Well in your previous posts with paratech it sounds like your talking about a polygonal version of one of the FF titles that was a remake of a snes game. Unfortunately Nothing exists like that. Then paratech continues on how he's glad he has the snes version. And you go on to agree with him but say that if he doesn't like the DS 3d polygonal version, he can always play the enhanced gba 2d version of the game. Bubbafat is in there as well saying how much he loved ff6(ff3 in usa)... :???:

oh no i ment that this new 3d version of ff4 was similar in, graphics wise at least, to the ds remake of ff3. he said he had thought there already was a remake that had been done, which from what i could tell ment he was referring to the gba remake of ff4 that was done a few years ago. however that remake was still in 2d, it just had nicer 2d than the original snes release (which again was released as ff2 here in the us). thats why i told him there is another remake of the game only this time it looks like the 3d remake they did with ff3 on the ds. now this is all squares fault and you can rest assured that they shall pay dearly for this misunderstanding that has busted up my generally unbustable rhythm.

edit- you fools can read this to see what i mean.
