Something else you should add...and mine

I suggest these questions should be put in the first post. Note the replies aren't given, as I don't have enough knowledge to answer each of them by myself.

Remember: One of these questions may be the most asked.

1. In No$gba DOS version, how do you make it work?

2. Where should I post if I want to know whether a game works or not?

3. How come there are lines while displaying the game?

4. My mic can't work! What should I do?

5. Where can I put my save files in?

6. How come No$gba isn't free?

7. No$gba crashes! What should I do?

8. How come the options I configure didn't stay the same?

So far, that's all of it. I hoped these questions may be put in the first post. :D

2. Can go in with "Does my game work"
3. Is a bug, which already has an entry.
6. Is already answered in the second paragraph or so.
7. Would probably go under bugs.
8. I really haven't seen this question asked.

1. I've never used the DOS version so no experience there.
4. I suppose that this would be a good one.
5. You mean like a note that saves are stored in the battery folder?

8. This one is pretty darn stupid...the person just forgot to save all the options before closing the emulator/having it crash. Or they deleted their ini or used the Basic Profile Manager.

Question:
A. How do you start the Nintendo BIOS in English at start in 2.6? It keeps on displaying Spanish, even after I set it to English.
B. How come I can't play GBA rom dumps from "GBA BIOS" at startup?

#8 and #1: Those are mine. Sorry, just wishing for a favor. If someone like RockmanForte can contact Martin and ask him about the DOS version, I'll be very grateful. That way, I won't have to waste nearly $400 on a new computer and could use my Windows 98.

#5: Yes.

Well, for #8, it's still a good choice for people who just had their first experience with No$gba.

A) Set your firmware to english before you dump it from your DS. No$gba does not have firmware editing capabilities.

Oh thank you. it's fixed.

First time hearing it...thanks anyway.

Windows 98 work with the windows version of no$gba, i don't know why you would want the DOS version. Beside this the DOS version is not so polished (no micro and no touchscreen) so lots of thing doesn't work in it.

Ok, I don’t want to look stupid here (well, I AM stupid) but I have a small prob here. I followed the instructions on what to do with da bios. I already renamed the bios, then I run the emu, selected the GBA BIOS as Entry point, which is under options, and restarted the game. It was in some language (Spanish?) and in a button was the name Pokemon Pearl. Then I pressed it. The emu said the rom image has crashed. Why? Im certainly sure that Im using th Ts2.bios. And also, I tried the Nds2x thingy, but when I run it, the emulator appeared, but literally for a second. It just disappeared after 0.5 second. I pressed Ctrl+alt+del to check wats happenin but right there the No$gba and the nds2x thingy appeared but according to it is still responding.

I want a DOS version to play GBA roms. I wanted to use No$gba DOS version on my Win98.

The reason is that my Win98 can't run executable files, as the rundll.exe is somehow unresponsive. And I have to use MS-DOS lots of times in order to execute programs installed in the hard drive.

So, please, no more saying the mic won't work or no touch screen, all I want is how to use the GBA features in it. Thank you.

If you need more information, let me know, and I'll use "hyper-Zelda" typing speed to let you understand how important MS-DOS it is to me.

You need to set the Startup point to 'Start Cartridge directly'.

Then the games need to be encrypted.

Ohhhh.... THX!

Edit: Um, I had this tool calld eNDryptS for three months and I want to aask if anyone knows how to use it. I run it and it says press 1 to encrypt/decrypt roms. I followed it and after that it closes. I checked if it will work now but still the same message: The rom-image has crashed.

If you have problem with win98, then install again the OS, or use VBA/ VBA-M.

Hell, no. Those specialized data are hard to delete, as the hard drive I'm using is really old.

Not only that, most of the data could not me moved, delete or changed, replaced or something like those. Either I'm doomed or whatever.

Also, didn't Martin said that DOS is the best OS anyone ever had, but people fancy for the 32-bit version? What does he meant by using DOS?

And VBA sucks, lagging at top 1 or 2 frames per second. Win98 only has somewhat 64 RAM, around Pentium 2, and it's the fastest and most highest it could go.

Win98 is less than 800 Mhz.

I hate to buy a new computer. Wastes money after spending it on computers that will be out of the market after 4~6 years. Using Win98 to go online and surf around, and then play all three seventh consoles my relatives had bought is better than to buy a new one, and don't know how to do this and that.

If you want another reason:

I wish to understand how a DOS version could actually run GBA roms.
