Well, I just tried playing my second game ever with ePSXe (after upgrading to v1.50). Xenogears. I made a new ePSXecutor profile, ran the game and played it for a while. I ran into a glitch (which is not the topic of this message) and quit out of ePSXe. I went back to the executor to change my config to fix the glitch.

ePSXecutor started up. I clicked on a config, and it freezes.
I end the task, try again. It freezes.
I look on the web, upgrade to ePSXecutor 1.05. It freezes.
I start it up, and try some things other than config. Its all fine. I can go to compatibility info, just about anything. click on a config, it freezes.
I delete all its registry entries, start it up, try to make a new config, it freezes.

Has my ePSXecutor just become allergic to configs? I can do anything non-config related, but otherwise it freezes. What the hell?
I run WinXP. The problem happened as described here. I did literally absolutely nothing between making the config for xenogears and trying to edit said config except play xenogears on epsxe.

Try backing up your savestates and memcards, and reinstall ePSXe.

Though I'm glad I now have a working aspi layer, which I'd been too lazy to get done otherwise, I'm not sure this post went to the right thread, since epsxecutor has nothing to do with scsi hardware..... I think. But thanks =)

Yeah, the BATARD's got a handy-dandy ISO maker too. :p

I have the same epsxecutor problems. I have a fully functional aspi layer, and i've tried deleting and re-installing epsxe and the registry entries. I'm STILL having the exact same problem as you - I can test evertyhing, and epsxe itself runs fine - but when I change configurations and save, epsxecutor locks up and I get an error message. I haven't been able to avoid the error, but I did find a way to outsmart it. If you right click and go to "change" and then "configure epsxe" instead of doing "quick configure" it will still lock up, but at least the settings will be saved.
