Hi ppl!, first, I'm argentinian, so, forgive my funny english :dead:

Ok, I've got 3 problems:

1-

FMV's whatever tehe config I use, are really buggeds, artifacts everywhere and a kinda "cuts" every 3 o 4 seconds, I'll show you in Error 1.jpg.
(thats sceMpegGetPicture is aborted are normals?)

2- CANT, whatever I try, use GSDX plugin, fps drops from 60 using ZeroGS to 12 using GSDX.. lastest versino of both, and the FMV's looks the same, only slower.

3- I thought... "well... I'll download the FMV's from YT or something, if I can at least play the game...", WRONG!, cant either... like I said, GSDX are not an option, so, the only way is to use ZeroGS, the problem is, the first thing I do when already skips all the FMV's, is to move near to a guy, something like Bash or something, well, the FPS's drops again, with ZeroGS, and I'll show you what happens when I watch on the console, Error 2 is the screen.

My PC is on the signature, and I use the 0.9.4 version with all the package provided from the download links, tryed also several diferent bios.

Well, before anything, thx for reading this, sory if this issues are already answered on another thread, I honesty didn't see it.

Thx again, I'll expect that in the next five mins top an answer, or otherwise..

Joke :p

The game isn't fully playable yet, you need to skip some videos (At the begining) in order to play well, I got 2 hours playing the game perfectly and look in my signature what kind of PC I have :) I'm happy cuz I'm getting between 30-40 and even 60 fps and in cutscenes I got 20-27 :thumb:

tryed also several diferent bios.
meaning you downloaded them?

1. FMVs are normal the intro is just buggy and after that one it's because your PC isnt fast enough to run them at full speed

2. be sure you enabled MTGS/DC in pcsx2 cpu options to get a boost in frame rates

3. use GSdx for FFXII it's better, there are parts in the game where it'll slow down no matter what, happens because the emu isnt perfect yet, ZeroGS using any AA 2x/4x and up will be definitelly slower dont use AA for this game, also try overclocking your CPU some more to get bigger speed boost

That probes that I'm doing something wrong..

1- No problem with FMV's.. isn't very important, I can wach them on YT or something.

2- Of course is ON, but the problem persists, I have the latests drivers of my 2900xt, Catalyst 7.12.

3- CANT, i repeat, it is useless, I get about 1/5 speed compared with ZeroGS... Ati issue??... doesn't matter if i turned off aa, cant use GSDX, and like I said, Zerogs shows up that error :"Invalid unpack type", I guess it's related to the problem.

More OC?... dont think so.. cuz I can note that is not about mhz, it's something else, look at the butz_san rig..

u running vista by any chance? :p

he said in cutscenes he gets 20-27fps, you're getting 35, what is it you're doing wrong? nothing, u're getting the performance ur higher clock is giving you, u want it faster get a faster overclock or cpu...

use VU skip/frameskip if u want more FPS wont look so good thou :p

Look, that happens sometimes with Ati drivers, you just need to have the lastest Ati Catalys driver, also if you want to gain some fps, you have to use Null sound or turn it off in ZeroSPU plugin. I use gabest's Gsdx and It's awesome!! And Like Shadow Lady said, The game slows down no matter what in some parts :)

It's not a speed issue, I mean, all the ppl says that with GSDX FFXII runs great, but not to me, that's the principal problem I have, and I want to know why :D

Im on XP SP2 32 bits now, few mins ago I've ran it on Vista, same thing, same speed, same problem, no changes at all. I hope if I can run FFXII on GSDX properly I'll can enjoin the game.. .but so far... is really annoying...

u could have said so to begin with, in your first post it just seemed like you complained about speed and u were using ZeroGS anyway

I've heard about the very low speed using GSdx dunno why is that

did u increase the internal resolution? tried using native? did u activate interlacing?

u sure u using the latest GSdx from the http://forums.ngemu.com/ps2-plugin-questions-troubleshooting/97657-gsdx.html thread?

Tryied everything, FPS always are below 20, I think it's something about my 2900xt... but, I'll not waste hours and hours googling it cuz it's maybe a PCSX2 problem, with no solution, dunno.

I've read, that other forum user had/s the same problem with "Invalid unpack type", he doensn't find out what it's wrong, maybe a solution can help us both :D

Thx ShadowLady for the help, are you a girl? :p

My clocks are 2800mhz, just modifying the FSB to 400, that's all, more than that, can cause damage, like v-mod.

Hey about your GSdx slow speeds. I had a simalr problem for awhile until i noticed that i was using a outdated plugin. If you downloaded the ps2 emulator for the website and did not download a new gsdx plugin your most likly using a outdated version of it.

Heres where the plugin can be downloaded.

Good luck
I've already download it, for some reason now the emu can detect the new plugins, seems like when using the old OS there were something wrong, dunno.

And yes, this new plugins are great, but I've have still low speed, like 35-40 fps and poor grafics.... maybe my CPU power is not enough. If that is the case.. well... I'll wait for a new release.

Mine is 103% overclocked using Intel E6300 Core 2 cpu and I mostly get around 80-100+ fps but when fight Yiazmat sometime i don't get 60 fps +. It can range from 45-70 fps :) it mostly slowed down when Yiazmat tries to use its magics while fighting. I have an ATI Radeon x1900 GT. 256mb (R580 XT2) so this make me think that I'm being GPU limited...

Anyway, here's how the fight look like for those who haven't fought Yiazmat yet.

my cpu is lower clocked than yours but I get the same frames 80-100
but in a lot of areas my processor bottoms to 100% brining frames to the 50s

do you get this a lot at 3.7 ghz?
I don't play from beginning to end..i used the game saves from Video Game Cheats - Video Game Reviews - Video Game Codes - Video Game Web Site - GameFAQs If you could please show me some of the places where you slows down (pictures if possible). I mostly testing the fps or speed in some particular area of the game. Btw it 3.78Ghz not 3.7Ghz :p almost 3.8Ghz which i can boot the pc up, but it's not stable.

100% OC... what kinda of refrigeration do you use?...
Again it's not 100% it's 103% :p. Refrigeration? I don't have that kind of cooling.. I use air power!

You need some direct x dllsto be in the root of the ps2 emulators folder. make sure you have those installed for those plugins to work.

Good luck!
