I'm trying to get FFXII to run ok-ish on PCSX 0.9.4, and have been trying alot of different plugins & settings.

The following settings seems to make everything look ok, but the fps will drop alot, and thereby have a great deal of delay. (especialy in cut-scenes):
ZeroGS KOSMOS 0.97.0
* Bilinear Filtering OFF
* Anti-aliasing OFF
* Advanced:
- Fast Update - 00040000 : Fixes depth error(persons appearing in front of objects they should be behind).
- full 16 bit resolution - 00010000 : Fixes depth error(persons appearing in front of objects they should be behind).
- Resolve Hack #2 - 00000800 : Fixes an error making textures on characters dissapearing.

Furthermore, the following settings, makes everything runs ok, though all errors that could be fixes with the advanced options in 0.97, will not be fixable:
ZeroGS KOSMOS 0.96.0
* Bilinear Filtering OFF
* Anti-aliasing OFF

CPU settings for both:
MTGS - Enabled
DC - Enabled
Frame Limiting - Limit

So what I am currently wondering, is if it is possible for me to enable/add the fixes made available in ZeroGS 0.97 in 0.96 in any way?
(btw: I've tested both with and without the advanced options and concluded that they are not the reason for reduced fps)

Tested your settings and they indeed fix the graphic problems. But at least in my case I dont see too much difference in FPS from 0.96 to 0.97.

The only big problem with FFXII at the moment is the constat crashes on cut scenes. Sounds get corrupted or goes out of sync on a cut scene and then you know it's going to freeze pretty soon. Appart from that is totally playable at full speed (with some frameskipping) on my computer.

great job with the zerogs adv options!

ihateregisterin: does the sound go out of sync with zerospu2?
I tested with zerospu and peops to see if that fixed the problem but it didn't.
With zerospu: Sounds gets hanged you hear the same fragment playing over and over.
With peops: Sounds gets some seconds out of sync and it eventually dies. And it only happened with the voices, music seemed to keep playing properly.

Oh and using these options there seems to be a very small graphic problem (I'll try to get an screenshot later), appart from that you can say that zerogs plays FFXII graphically perfect ;)

When using 0.97 it isnt reducing fps always, but in some scenes, and often in combats the fps will drop to like 15-20, whereas 0.96 will play the same scene with 30-40.

Also, about the sound problem in movies, I noticed that by playing around with various values for buffer size with Gigahertz spu2 plugin, the sound would play for a longer time, but then trackback and play the same thing over again. If that helps in any way.

Same freezes happen with null spu plugin, so I guess the bug lies elsewhere and the sound errors are just a byproduct of it.

Runs great!

I'm using these settings:

Graphics
Bilinear Filtering: On
Anti-aliasing: 4X
IDS: 50800
All other options are unchecked/disabled

Sound
Time Scaling: On
All other options are unchecked/disabled

CPU
EERec: On
VU0rec: On
VU1rec: On
MTGS: On
DC: On
Frame Limiting set to Limit

Plugins used:
ZeroGS KOSMOS 0.97.0
SSSPSX PAD Plugin Pressure Mod 1.6.0 (I use a wireless 360 controller)
Linuzappz Iso CDVD 0.7.0
USBnull Driver 0.5.0
ZeroSPU2 0.4.4
DEV9null Driver 0.3.0
FWnull Driver 0.4.0
Bios: USA v1.60

My system specs:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 3.0 GHz
Memory: 2gb (2 x 1gb) Corsair 4-4-4-12 DDR2 800MHz
Video: Geforce 8800 GTS 640mb @ 600MHz Core/1000MHz Memory
OS: WinXP Pro SP2

I average about 50-60fps.
The sound stutters pretty bad sometimes.
Although, with the game being completely playable so far, I could live with a little sound stuttering. ;)

I made a video that I will be uploading later. The frames in the video are lower than the actual framerate I get as recording videos has its own impact on performance a little.

Update:

Core2 E6420 @ 3.2
Geforce 7600GT
Windows Vista Business

KOSMOS 0.97.0 (no AA/Bilinear) with:
No Target Resolve
No Vertical Stripes
No Depth Resolve
Full 16-bit resolution
Fast Update
Resolve Hack #2

Does 50+ fps in most battlefields, 12 fps in the first town.

Zenemis' settings works wonders, I can even play with 2xAA without much difference in fps.

The only graphical error that I can still see is that of textures on some stairs and on the walls on the side of the door into houses in towns.

Also, loading savestates works for 5seconds, then crashes Pcsx.

The Fast Update - 00040000 make crash pcsx2 each time I use an impulsion. Anybody has the same probleme? Someone has a solution?

Q6600 @3Ghz | 8800GTS | 2Go DDR2 corsair

edit: Ok my fault. If I put AA from 4x to 2x Impulsion is ok and pcsx2 don't crash. I thinks my system is not enough stable.
(sorry for my english)

re edit: pcsx2 still crash after multiple pulse. (I have the european version)
