Here are my specs, maybe you can point me in the right direction to getting this to run like it should. My Operating System is Windows MCE 2005 32 bit.
3.2GHZ Pentium D 940, 500GB SATA II HDD, 2gigs DDR2, NVidia GeForce 8600 GTS O/C, Sigma Tel Audio sound card (original, weakest link).

I started the pcsx2.exe, and it told me it can't allocate memory to run, so I had to choose the TLB version instead. I tried playing Shadow Hearts and it ran slowly, 26 frames per sec, and the sound flickered in and out and finally stopped working, like the sound was lagging. I know my pc is better then this. Can you point me in the right direction to running PCSX2 faster?

Thanks everyone, and thanks Fadingz for showing me the right forum.

um, im pretty sure thats what you should be expecting.
you wanna be a little more specific? Is it my specs, the game? This is a turn based game with low graphics. I believe I should be able to play it quite well. And this may mean nothing to emulator players but I play sim racing games with over 100 FPS and no sound problems. Why shouldn't I be able to play shadow hearts?

The video card is near new, It runs DX10...not well this year but it'll run it. I thought my processor could handle it, it's only a year old and it's dual core. Is a Core 2 Duo really going to make that much difference from what I have now? Isn't my motherboard more important? In that case though I can't replace the MB. Help me out here, I should be qualified to atleast play a turn based game...

whats wrong with is graphics card? It should be perfectly fine for running pcsx2.

Your processor sucks, thats about it.
well when i was looking for a notebook, all i could get was 8600 GT (considering i only wanted around 13" notebooks). i've read on notebookreview that the 8600 GT is closer to the 8700 than the 8600 GTS (quoting from someone there). when i came here and asked, they said no, its not that great. and from what he said that his computer should be able to run it (pretty well), mmm~ i dont think so.

i think its the cpu and gpu that effects the pcsx2 the most.

Uhh...development, may very well be offtopic but I ran the same iso, and it came up fast with 100 FPS and good sound (I changed the sound to lower quality, faster, it helped) but now i'm stuck at the choose language screen. Should that happen?

no wait, now it's running and it's back to sucking.

duhhh.... to the few people posted above... I have the same processor and a weaker GFX, I can even run FFXII at 20 fps =_=, FFX at full speed, KH at full speed, and the bottleneck is still my GFX...
You need a 2.5GHz C2D/X2 'OR' 4GHz P4 with HT 'OR' 3GHz D to get a DECENT SPEED!
If he can run the TBL version at 30fps means he can run for even more on the VM =_= sheesh...

@ ReX - Mays,
Is there any error? or is it going in loops?

Hmmm... on the compat list it says 'playable with 0.9.4', so you probably gonna run into some troubles with 0.9.2 :p.
You can try to search at the screen-shot thread.
I there is no screenshot, then it means it's not compatible with 0.9.2 and you might need to stick with your PS2 on that game until 0.9.4 ;)

0.9.4 only? well it'll run but when it gets to the first cinematic, the animation goes slowly and the screen breaks up into 2, it cracks in 2. On low quality sound it works better, but still is laggy. So this means I can play other well known games at full speed??

And I told you I had a good video card. Any 8 series will work great. It was a serious upgrade from my GeForce 6200!!!

0.9.4 isnt out yet >_>.
hmm, that x600 doesnt look THAT bad, compared to my 8400 GS lol.
and no, it does not mean you can play well know games at full speed without glitches nad stuff.
check the compat list first to see the status of the game and also the video/screenshot section for people's review on them.

well atleast I feel better about my specs. Now I just gotta decide on a game to different play. Thanks everyone.

A Pentium D is not only a year old...not ancient either, but they still suck :p. FFX full speed with a X600 oO? Wow Fadingz, I never hit full speed in FFX with my old X700 :p.

P.S.
You need to upgrade Fadingz! There's so much selection now and the prices are very reasonable :thumb:.

A 8600GTS isnt awesome, but its fine enough for PCSX2, as long as you don't try to run some of the most 3D intensive games, but it's still good enough.

The CPU is the main problem, your PC can probably do lots of other things, but PCSX2 needs a very strong CPU, which is why you can get some bad performances.
