whats with the starts that some members have underneath their names??
I dont understand what their for?
they are a way to measure your awesomeness. and less importantly, a way to tell someones rank and stuff.

Do you get any privledges as you increase in rank?
- The blue and violet stars have no "privileges". The more you post, the more you get. Violet is the highest for regular members.

- Silver stars are for staff members. Those have more privileges (read bothers or duties), like closing threads, moving them, giving warnings. These people get chosen for their forum managing prowess (!!?), experience and number of loyal minions.
* moderators can only moderate their sections.
* supermods can moderate all sections
* well, admins can, well, do anything they please, quite literraly.

- Red stars are for award winners and emu coders. Some emu coders are moderators of their own sections, so they just keep red stars instead of grey ones (like Refraction, who is also admin. surprise!!).

Different groups can have access to some sections not available to other groups (members/guests), like for the annual awards election for example.

As far as I know, red stars, purple and orange ones (7 stars) are only for "pride", and do not carry anything special.

NB: a stars meaning disambig explanation is still necessary ;)

Its so we can tell who's more likely to be full of crap. ^^

ie someone with 1 post going "OMG I MADE A PS2 ROM EMULATOR THAT USES DOS" is less likely to be taken seriously... although I don't know how far CKemu could even push that one.
