Favorite VG Music box themes ?

It seems like there are many Video game music ethusiastics around here, so thought I'd ask if some people love listening to those tracks which feature music box tunes ( I have a soft spot for 'em :D ). So what are your favorites? Mine would have to be Parasite Eve alternate ending, Xenogears' Faraway promise , Xenosaga III Maybe Tomorrow music box ver. I'd also say Davvy Jones' theme from the second PotC movie was also touching...but too bad its no video game :p

I also love the xenogears music box theme, I listen to that soundtrack a lot to be honest.

Not a VG, but the masquerade them in music box form is awesome from the Phantom of the opera...to bad no one could sing well in the movie they made.

My favorite has to be Final Fantasy 8, runners up is Xenogears.

Man, I think i need to play ff8 over again...

Valkyrie Profile has two songs featuring music box stuff: "Behave Irrationally" and "Requiem to a Predicament". I have to admit that they also include other instruments, but they still sound pretty neat.

Bah, I was looking for more suggestions..but yeah, I do admit that Xenogears' musicbox theme is kickass.

parotaku : a bit offtopic, but thanks for pointing at Silent Hill...Thanks to your recommendation, I ended up checking some of its music and wow, I fell in love with The Theme of Laura. I tried finding the game in my area but it seems to be rare, so I guess I ll have to try my luck on ebay..

i like the soundtrack from american mcgee's alice, no specifc track in particular. its mostly based around childrens songs but it is done with music boxes, its pretty neat.

I actually really enjoyed the music box song from Wild Arms IV, though I think that had more to do with the actual significance of the song than the song itself. Or at least I think it had one, didn't really care about much of the rest of the soundtrack. >_>

Edit: ah, Feeling the Bonds.

I don't think that Soul Calibur ever featured music box stuff. You might have misinterpreted the title of this thread a little, I think ;)

I remember liking a music box theme in either Star Ocean or Tales of Phantasia, can't remember which one or what it sounded like. I'll have to go digging through my piles of OST's I guess.

Yeah Xenogears music box is good.
But I respected Elly more for his comment on the POTC music box theme, because that is really touching. I liked how they used in the third part too.

Anyway, another worth mentioning is Doom's music box (can't remember the name of the track) ;) . The one from Doom1 ending and also used in Doom2 plutonia experiment iirc

Ah right! Rena's theme ? ( or something of that sort..)
