I don't fear the Ref, besides, Tomshardware isn't my only source, just one of many. "Many" being the amount of hits on google. And of course I'll stick with my PSU, it rocks, so says Ref himself :p

I just did some more research and it seems that if I'll go with the Asrock 4Core Dual VSTA board and an e4400 I will be able to OC it to 290 FSB, the RAM divider will automatically switch to 4:3 when using DDR1, resulting in a 217.5 mHz ram speed. My ram should be able to do that at CL 2.0 - 2-3-5 - 1T, cause right now it's being pushed even further ^^

A 2.9 gHz C2D for ~170€, tempting... :D

F***. I hate when this happens. On a previous PC, i got an AMD Athlon 3700+ when it costed $250 or so, but then a month after, it dropped down to less than $150. Same goes with my X1900GT. I got it when it first released for about $400. Now with $400, i can get a damn 8800GTS. :(. Oh well, at least the X1900GT has served me well for years so far. Now my E6600, i got for around $420CAD and now its only $300.. :( God damn it.

Patience is a virtue ineed. The X1900GT never was a high-end card to begin with, unlike XT and XTX. Just wait one or two months till prices have settled and suplly exceeds demand, that will lower prices even before the first official pricecut. Intel even announced their pricecuts way in advance. However, I know how hard it is to wait when you eagerly want some new stuff to play with :)

Got it today. :D

Temps are almost 10 degrees cooler than my E6300 with the same set up. And that's with my room hot as hell without the AC on. Extra cache also helps with image editing. :)

What batch week did you get and how much are you gonna overclock it?

well, first off, when i got the X1900GT, it WAS a high end card. Hell, it was almost on par in terms of performance with the XT. After overclocked, it benchmarked even faster than the XTX. The XTX was like almost $700CAD when it first released. And also, i wasn't patient, cause At the time, i had a geforce FX 5200, which sucked monkey balls. (Oh and b4 u spam me, mind u i have the really rare Rev.1 card, which OCs really well compared to the Rev.2)

Once the 1333FSB Core 2's appear, I'll buy a new mobo and push this to 5000FSB. :D

For sure, I'll definitely get me a P5B Deluxe but my biggest concern is, will it support the 45nm processors? Well, i hope it does support the upcoming 45nm cpu cause i don't plan to buy another mobo after I've bought the p5b-d, and if i do, it'd be like somewhere in the winter ;) (perfect time for oc'ing :thumb: ) Once I get my hand on the P5B-D I'll push it to its limit (E6300). I expect it to do from 3.75GHz - 3.85+GHz

Don't hope too much. The recent test run of the Penryn chip was done on a hard modified Intel LGA775 board. Basically, they had to rearrange a few things on the board physically. But I'm still hoping it's just a BIOS issue they'll deal with when the time comes :).

If not though, the Kentsfield are either going to go up in price or down...depending on the situation. I for one will get a quad-core, but I'm not willing to buy a new motherboard :p.
