When was the last time Sega made a good game? And no that's not a rhetorical question, I'm trying to think and I can't remember anything since Sonic Adventure.
Let's see... Sonic Rush, Sonic Advance Series, Outrun 2/2006, Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Mega Collection, Super Monkey Ball, After Burner Climax. The rest are mediocre to pure crap but at least there are some few good games out there...

I can imagine what the big suprise is "Control Sonic with your stylus through a topsy turvy maze of madness the doctor has created to hide Emeralds...spin and slide sonic as he gathers speed and collects rings!"....and in big letters under that "Sonic is 3D!!!! A Revolution!!".

SEGA haven't done much right since the Mega Drive and should of died eons ago...oh and don't "Shenmue" or "Skies of Arcadia" me, both are over rated tosh...

Admittedly the last handheld I owned was the Atari Lynx...(Which I sold to get the MD).

Stupid move. Outrun Coast to Coast 2006 was a brilliant title and translated so well to the PSP - I still play it to this day. The DS is underpowered for such games and what SEGA won't be able to do in raw terms they'll attempt to make up with gimmicky touch screen gameplay.

I own both and I play my PSP a whole hell of a lot more.

SEGA did a lot right with the Dreamcast which indeed includes Shenmue 1 and 2, but also Samba De Amigo, Jet Set Radio, Soul Calibur, Arcadia and so many other brilliant and engaging titles.

This is just pressure for them to vye away from Sony.

I agree with you there. it is a awesome game. but they have been releasing alot of garbage lately

As for the move to DS, well, I don't know wether that is such a good thing for PSP owners - since Sega always did a great job of porting cool games over to other platforms - and the PSP would have been the best option to handle the more demanding games

This is a recent advertising poster. ^^

Ok by Sonic Adventure I meant part 2 also :p

Besides SA/SA2, I haven't played any of the games you mentioned.

Crush does look like an interesting game. The idea of changing between side scroller and 3d id definitely a cool idea. I may actually pick it up if it gets decent reviews, but I'll have to wait and see. Thank goodness for my PSP though, because video games were dying for me for a while until I bought it :) Best purchase I have ever made hands down!

I see... Well, take some time to try the rest out. They are exceptions of the "SEGA makes ****ty titles" rule. :p
Unfortunately the rule still stands for most of SEGA's recent titles...

it will also involve a large support cast and human females that love sonic :p

as for "sh!tty sega" , that's what happened AFTER the dreamcast.... at least their arcade divisions are still good.

well, I'd like ORIGINAL content for the DS. Actually, you just mentioned the reason why I don't have a PSP.

AFTER Dreamcast?...SEGACD? SEGA 32X? Saturn? You can smell the chain of flops from outerspace. Heck even the few good titles that where on the dreamcast are being ruined by fanboys, wishing the DC to live even after it's well and truly dead, why? - because now all those great titles are being buried under flung out SHMUPS, with about as much value as bog roll.

well, I don't really have a problem there, I have my PC and PS2 for original content, and it's not really like the PSP gamelist consists out of 100% unoriginal ported games, and besides , nothing wrong with a really decent ported game that I happen to like on another platform to play "on the go" when I'm away from home. But granted. I have to say the number of games ( or the lack thereof ) released for the PSP since it's launch is truly pathetic.

well, unsuccesful consoles is another thing - you're quite right on that.
However, I always thought Sega's own games were of very high quality. In recent years though, they seem more focused on delivering a large amount of games and less on their actual quality. An exception to this rule are the development teams that do the arcade games.

I agree about the DC shmups, to a degree. Treasure's and G-Rev's efforts are good but all the other ones are games that'd only be released as budget-bin titles on other consoles. Actually, shmups usually get released at those prices anyway - so they wouldn't even be good enough for that.

There's nothing wrong with having ports of popular titles on the go - and if you prefer that, the PSP is an obvious choice (and yes, it has also original titles, just a relatively low amount). Of course, I have titles on the DS that are portable versions of console games , but I also like to have some different games on it.

The SHMUPs in question are mostly NAOMI arcade ports, which are still in demand in Japan from arcade shooter fans more so than DC lovers.

Also, bog roll and all that goes with it (plumbing, running water, cleanliness) defines modern society, so I doubt it's a low value item in socialogical and economic terms.

Regardless of what moves Sega makes, I've learnt through experience to avoid their games like the plague. They haven't turned out a decent one since Sonic Adventure, and I don't think they're about to get any better.
