I think I read about the X1950Pro AGP 2 months ago, I'm more interested in seeing this one released in Europe. I'm thinking of selling my 7800GS and getting one of those instead. A friend of mine might be interested in my old card and if I can sell it for ~175 the X1950 might be a great investment.

I doubt he will like to upgrade his PSU, and seeing how this card needs two seperate molexes, as opposed to the single additional one of the 7800, there's a good chance of the deal becoming reality ^^

It'll be around for a while simply for legacy (or what is quickly becoming legacy) computers.

If its not dead its limping along.
It's almost like a Dreamcast :p

The specsheet of that card looks really nice, seeing how all I want to play is NWN2, it will get the job done. I'm not interested in DX10, mainly because I would need a completely new system, and I promised myself to get a console if I'd want to do some gaming.

Thats great news for guys having old mainboard.
Maybe. But, being one of those guys with an old motherboard, I know I wouldn't want to spend a significant amount of money on an AGP card when I know if I were to upgrade, I'd have to get a new card again. So if they're more powerful and dirt cheap; bring it on.

AGP is going to be here for a while, as said before ISA took for ever to just die, and I was glad when that happened. I mean yes I may not have had a pci sound card at the time, but then I remember I could go spend 20 bucks, or even use the on board stuff.

I just have a hard time seeing the value in AGP graphic cards these days. PCIE motherboards are at all time low and even SLI boards can be had for as low as 50 dollars..

The only excuse I can see is if your running something like Athlon XP system..

it's probably since a lot of people still use the AGP-compatible motherboards because they didn't upgrade to PCIE in the first place

I still have a 6800 Ultra AGP and might upgrade to another AGP card because it would cost too much to completly buy a new system with PCIE
