Grandia 2 (3 storyline is bad not much love related GA seem like to mention the Guardian/gods alot this time) :(
Shadow of Collosus (Thumb up for this one) :D
Shadow Hearts series wont let you down.;)
Tales of Abyss (Legendia sucks though the best Tales series for PS2 is Tales of Rebirth just hope it will be translated someday) :(
Dragon Quest VIII (Great graphic great story line i recommand this one as well)
Suikoden III/IV/V (III and V seem much better than IV)
And of course FFXII

Wow nice what exactly is Grandia Xtreme? I beat Grandia 2 for dreamcast back in the day with Ryudo. I'll look out for Tales of Abyss I loved the PS2 tales series. Dragon Quest looked good so did Suikoden. I plan to get like 3-5 games depending on the cost. Thanks for the recommendations!

Highly recommended:
- Tales of the Abyss
- Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne
- Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 1/2
- Disgaea: Hour of Darkness (Strategy RPG)

Recommended:
- Star Ocean 3
- Tales of Legendia
- Front Mission 4 (Strategy RPG)

Not recommended:
- Grandia 2 (PS2 version is waaayyy too buggy, get it for DC or PC)
- Grandia 3 (Bad story, bad characters, very short, no replay value)

a bit of OT:

hmm, is phantasy star universe (PC) good? most reviews i that i see has a lot of negative comments on them (regardless of what system), also do you really need to be online for it even for the single player option?

The negative comments are from gamers who expect Phantasy Star Universe to be like War of Warcraft or Guild Wars. Phantasy Star Universe is not a MMORPG.

For the PC, yes you need to be online to play the offline content.

Well Eric.....I'm no big RPG fan and I haven't played episodes 2 and 3, but I can assure you that episode I of Xenosaga was a great ride. I'd recommend that too.

EpII's battle system is a little retarded, but plot wise it continues in the same way as EPI. I'm currently playing EPIII and it's probably the best out of the 3.

There are ways to play PSU offline without an internet connection, also this game needs no cd key to play..you don't even need a cd key to buy an online account. :thumb:

Hmm, how'd you rate the difficulty levels of the three? And what if I jump to II after I (of course, after reading on the II's plot or walkthrough)?

EP2 is definitely the most difficult without a boss guide. I'm guessing you meant to say jump to III instead of to II, right? You probably could skip it, but only if, like you said, you read the script or plot summary. If you're feeling exceptionally brave, you can watch all the scenes from: Xenosaga Episode II FMVs & Cutscene Movies - Blue Laguna's Media Archive

It's only missing a few scenes since they weren't prerendered.

That's too much for my shared LAN connection :p I guess reading scripts would have to suffice. Thanks for the input, time to get Episode III :D
