Sega of America today announced Sonic Riders for the PC and will be released this holiday season ;)

Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President of Marketing, said: "Sonic Riders adds a new and exciting dimension to PC racing games. The blending of the action-racing genre and the Sonic franchise has created a racing game that is appealing and accessible to both Sonic fans and casual gamers alike."

Outrun 2K6 was done/ported 60FPS fine, i guess this one will be too
The porting of Outrun 2k6 from arcade to the home systems was done by Sumo instead of Sega I think.

Actually I think Sega was famous for their good PC ports always since Dos times :p . (But for HOTD2 which lacked settings configuration :( )
not really, but at least they usually kept their games intact, even if the port was shoddy.
Lately their ports have been good an a somewhat more constant basis, but sometimes they came with very curious sets of problems, or they were lacking something.

I was gutted when I played VF2 on the PS2, the textures were rubbish. But I reckon more recent titles have received better conversions (nevermind the Dreamcast launch titles, namely VF3tb and Sega Rally 2), but if they keep porting their older classics that poorly it certainly won't make alot of people happy.

Panzer Dragoon on the PS2 was nicely done (a port of the PC port evidently).. we need more of those, NiGHTS, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Burning Rangers.. Sega Ages titles aren't being localised nor there are enough titles being converted to begin with.

VF2 on PS2? That's a Sega Ages release....during the course of the series they changed it more into rereleases of model 2 games rather than beefed up old games....surely it has bad textures (even compared to other ps2 games ;) ), it uses the original ones.

The earlier Sega Ages releases are beefed up old games. VR, for example, has additional effects added to it (a bit strange to see lighting effects and shading on what was originally a model 1 game, but it doesn't look totally out of place).

The model 2 ports seem to be some sort of emulation. aside from VF2, there are Fighting Vipers and Last Bronx for example, and Sonic Fighters in the Sonic gems collection and the Sega Rally rerelease that comes with the Japanese Sega Rally 2006 are the same idea. They're not altered from the originals, so yes, they'll look dated compared to regular ps2 titles.

As for Virtua Fighter 2 PC; it was quite a nice port of the Sega Saturn version, and it got a D3D patch too (unlike Last Bronx). Without that patch, it was lacking, though (really heavy for the pc, at the time).

Sonic riders on PC ? All righty:thumb:. I've played SR on PS2. This game is awesome. I have unlocked whole char and now I'm try to collect all gear and the last character, Super Sonic;) IMO this is the best of Sonic genre so far.

If they port it RIGHT , it ought to be nice...
I guess this means Shadow the Hedgehog isn't coming to pc, though.
I'm sure shadow the hedgehog will be avalaible play on PC too since on PS2 Shadow can playable (as secret char).

oh, sorry if I wasn't clear, I meant the game "Shadow the Hedgehog", not the character (he's in Sonic Heroes, afterall).

Not that Shadow the Hedgehog is such a stellar game, but I'd like it better if it ran smoother, and I would only have the PS2 to play it on now (which is sadly the worst version).
