Why not Ultras, and where is the option for "Free instant magical upgrades for the rest of your life so your pc will never suck and be obsolete" ?
DUde, if u want dream machine, make the cards ULTRAS, get 2 10,000 RPM Western DIgital Raptors to load prograpms on and then have 2 200gb storage HDs. You also need 2 23in Apple Cinema Displays. Their LCDs are killer! Imagen Far Cry on one of them. I would go for the 30in, but the whole thing with dual-link DVI is a little confusing. anyone know if the 6800Ultra for PCs have dual link? Accoding to their system requiremtents under TechSpecs, the 30in work work with windows. it shows windows only under the 20 and 23in
Well i would rather buy an olevia 32 inch widescreen lcd since it looks damn good with a pc and also has 8ms response time and is cheaper than the apple 30 inch one,but apples ones are good, seen one of those 30 inch monitors with a pc at pima,it was amazing.Generally i don't want those 10,000 rpm hdd's,i'll just stick with 7,200rpm ones for now.Well if i were to use 2 geforce 6800 ultras in sli wuld the 480 watt antec power supply be enough?
Probably would need two power supplies. And if you want MAXIMUM ULTIMATE HARD DRIVE SPEED BOOST you should use SCSI 15k RPM drives and use lots of those new 400GB drives for storage in RAID5. And for your hardcore display needs use one of these. The website has been down for an eternity, so I don't know about procurement.

If your looking for some hardcore LCD moniters, look at http://www.digitaltigers.com/. They have some wicked screens (with crappy reponce times i think).

TigerVista Arena Elite
(4) 19" top panels @ 1280x1024 +
(2) 21.3" wing panels @ 1600x1200 +
(1) 24.3" Main panel @ 1920x1200

Thats 7 Screens Total! Thats freekin insaine, let alone useless. Now, the 3 most usefull ones are:

TigerVista Horizon 21D (4 Screens)
(4) 21.3" Panels @ 1600x1200

TigerVista PowerTrio Elite (3 Screens)
(1) 24.3" Main Panel @ 1920x1200 +
(2) 21.3" Wing Panels @ 1600x1200

TigerVista Duo 21D (2 Screens)
(2) 21.3" Panels @ 1600x1200

Edit:Aaaa, It woun't let me attach some pix using the edit.

My PC's fine as it is. :p No use in configuring a dream PC, I know I'll probably never get it.
My dream PC is an Athlon 64 3500+ (90nm) with a good nForce3 or K8T800 board. My overclocked Athlon XP 2500+ does pretty well though :).
i would leave this next pc on original clock speed, then save up for another system and buy the parts from newegg later on so i can have plenty of time learning about overclocking and putting the comp together:).Also i would add in either the 30 inch widescreen lcd from nec or that olevia one.

The 2500+'s is really good on nForce 2 motherboards(for overclocking)! This is my second 2500+ on this board (ABIT NF-7 v2), running stable and cool at 2.3GHz.
I think my next PC will be nForce 4 powered... socket 939 :D

I last heard My dream PC is coming soon... ;)
Heck, if I'd live on the US I'd be ready to assault the delivery truck on the road... that PC is obscenely good...
Im dreaming about getting myself another small upgrade.
just the CPU and Gfxcards. hehe
I found something very interesting on ebay, it was a FX-55 w/ 2 * 6800 GT (XFX)
and 2* 74GB raptors SATA + 2 others 200 GB from WD too a nec DVD-16X DL for a total of 548GB a Audigy 2 ZS platinum + variuos others things the total cost of the computer (including mouse and keyboard and XP Pro :( )was $ 5.000 (without the screen)
well since it's an sli nforce4 system i would expect a high price like that, too bad it doesn't have a monitor.is the system from just some seller or actual brand name company?

Hardcore monitors
That's pretty hardcore. I know there's a display out there that is 10 screens, 5 on top, 5 on bottom and it costs $100k US but I can't for the life of me find the site. They are all 21" LCDs if I remember correctly.

I consider my PC to be pretty dreamy, except I need to underclock the gfx card so it doesn't die in 3D apps. I'll be replacing it soon, thanks team BFG (and your awesome warranty)! I also intend to get a better CPU cooler and OC it at some point but I'm in no hurry. The upgrade from 1ghz is still amazing.
i got my dream machine already. all i did was just upgraded from a 2400+ Tbred NF-72.0, GF4TI and 512 pc2700

to a
A64 3000+ K8ns pro , X800pro 2x 512mbs pc3500. did this one at a time.

For some reason I cannot increase my FSB very much, I don't know if it's due to RAM that overclocks crappily (my guess) or if I have bad chipset cooling. Then again you have the same motherboard so I doubt it's that. It seems like I have to increase the voltage exponentially to get minor speed increases (like 1.675v=2.2 GHz, 1.8=2.3, 1.9+=2.4). I would go with the nForce4 but now that I have my new video card, I'm sticking with AGP a while longer.
Well my dream PC is basically what I have now, it could always be better as technology is always progressing, but it hasn't failed me yet!
My dream pc is well the best of the best, AMD based....but what I'd really like to have is a custom case head to toe...(if only I had the money/talent), but what razor said is what I'm going with, my PC hasn't failed me yet...been going great for 2 years now.

2700+
1gb of 2700
9700 PRO
AUdigy 2 plat
80 and 20 gb hard drive

Still running the game well...
