Well, people, I've finally got past a big problem in GPU emulation (as far as I can tell :) NextGL v1.6 is a lot more accurate in handling the DMA chain now. You know (maybe), so it now more accurately emulates the real PSX's GPU DMA chain process :)

So... Now NGL is the only plugin that can actually run some of these cool demos/intros/cracktros that I have found around the 'net. The one I've been focusing on was Thor's cracktro #1. All other GPUs that I have tried it on either give a complete blank screen or crash... It might sound like I'm full of myself right now, but I can't think properly about anything, so maybe that's what's causing it ??? :p

Anyway... Here's some proof, I'll keep updating if there's any more cool progress to be made :)

Putting a topic that's on topic into off-topic? That's kind of strange. :p I'll put this into misc PSX Emu discussion because that's probably the best place to put it. Or at least it's better than off-topic. Heh. Cool news, NickK. Keep up the good work.
Fixed semi transparency problems :)
Really nice!!!

Congrats!!

(can you put the URLs of those demo/intros, please?)
ur really makin awesome progress :)
hope to see Ngl1.6 very soon
Whoah. Perhaps maybe now I can try and use it. Those past few problems were the things messing up the games I have ^.^

Hey, don't worry, I've been working on that for a while too, but there are some annoying D3D specific problems to hammer out... So, new versions (I'm estimating) of both of these plugins should be out somewhat close to each other.

I also started a PCX screen writer, but I'd suspect that most people would like the BMP format to be used, though :)
I guess next version of nest3d solves out my 810 problem.I would love to post some screenshots but black boxes are preventing me from this.
Thanks Neway.

That'd be cool. I've reordered the texture format detection sequence, so lets see how it works :)
A good hint for speed could be to do just your basic code-cleaning. I've heard so many stories about how just plain cleaning up the code on something can enhance it's performance.
Then again, I'm assuming that's what you'rei n the process of doing ;)
