I've just started playing Xenogears and whenever Fei gets into a fight, the fps drops to ~24fps (usually its 60fps limited thru frame-limiter). The weird thing is that the fps drop is the same even if I play @ 400x300 or 1280x960 :confused:

Is this a bug in the game, the emulator, or the plugins I'm using???

Plugins used are: Pete's OpenGL 1.56 GPU, Eternal SPU 1.1, Pete's CDR plugin 1.09

My system is: Athlon 1200, 384mb ram, Leadtek GF3 with 23.11 drivers, Windows XP

Xenogears uses 2D sprites in a 3D environment. In battles however its complete 3D. Play a little with the textures settings.

btw: in Xenogears, some glitches are waiting for you. In some scenes you must activate Full VRam primitives. When you fighting Deus, the game will freeze, when he uses some sort of special attack. When you are fighting him, make a quicksave after each attack - then load if the game freeze.
