I have a question regarding this X360 CE emulator. I had a problem with a game (Darksiders on the PC) where my xbox 360 controller would not work for it, yet it works great for the other games I have that enables use of a controller. I was given all kinds of advice on how to fix this, but none of that advice worked. Then someone pointed me to this emulator and I installed it and it worked great.
I would like to know why?
In summary, I have an Xbox 360 controller that works fine with other games (including Darksiders 2), but it did not work at all for Darksiders 1. I installed this emulator and now the controller works flawlessly.
Normally I wouldn't care why but there is an argument on Steam right now between what I think is 2 idiots (for arguing over something stupid like this). One says that it was not an issue with his computer but had to do with some patch or a fix of some kind, the other says because he had to use this X360CE that it was an issue with his computer. If it was an issue with the computer, then what could cause the problem? I had essentially the same issue as the other guy.

some games are made badly and read the controller name string and will fail to work.

Not sure what you mean? The controller I use is an official xbox 360 controller (wired).

For a larger percentage it does but for some it doesn't, especially in Darksiders 1. Not sure why maybe it has something to do with a patch that doesn't always load up correctly. That seems like the most logical explanation.

It's identical (guidInstance is generated ID for current device instance, switch to different USB and guidInstance will change).
So now is even more strange that it wont work in Darksiders without x360ce.

Hi all
i've got a game pad that only has 1-Axis and 8 buttons and I want to set the "back" and "start" buttons of the xbox 360 pad to a keyboard key (Z and X)for example, because I haven't got more place in my pad.
Is it that posible?

I saved myself a lot of hassle and bought the Mayflash USB Adapter. I don't have to worry a/b setting up buttons anymore with x360ce. My controller is now detected as Xinput so it fools Windows into thinking I'm using a Xbox 360 controller and it also works wirelessly via Bluetooth.
