64bit memory interface, and only 32 shaders.... It should be ok as long as you keep the resolution low.

unless it turns out to be a rebrand of the 9600GT, which isn't that bad.

According to previous reports that surfaced earlier this year, NVIDIA's GeForce GT 230 will come as a rebranded version of the company's current GeForce 9600GT graphics card. The card will be designed for the performance market and will most likely be slower than the officially announced GTS 250.

well is gotta be better than what i have now...lol

pentium 4 processor 3.069 ghz
512 mb ram
radeon xpress 200 graphics card

that can play disgaea and makai kingdom with minor graphic problems at close to full speed, so i imagine the new computer would be better

Wait, please specify the model for the processor, depending on the clockspeed and whether you're oc'ing or not, it might be smarter to get a high clocked Core 2 Duo instead.
Graphic cards will affect your resolution.... what res will you be playing at? if it's native that cards should be enough.

With $1000 I'm sure you can build an i5 platform with a nice video card, that is if you build it yourself.
here's a quick newegg can get you :

Your choice of components may vary (you might want to get a cpu cooler, or downgrade the vga a little, keep the i5 though), but for roughly that price you can get a much more powerful computer if you build it yourself...

well i never considered building a computer. that might be out of my league. do you need a credit card to order stuff from newegg? i would love a hardcore gaming system but i don't really need it.. i actually don't play many graphic intense 3d games.. like i said firepro wresting returns was my main game to play and its 2d sprites.

you guys helped a lot and gave me some info to consider...

thanks a lot
