Woman robbed by blanket-clad bandit

A woman fought off a man who was wearing nothing but a blanket when she was robbed outside her Sydney inner-city unit.

The 36-year-old woman and the blanket-clad man got into a lift on the ground floor of the unit block in Belvoir Street, Surry Hills, about 6.15pm yesterday, police said.

As the woman got out of the lift on the first floor, the man demanded her wallet.

She refused and a struggle ensued, during which the man's blanket was dislodged.

Two men from a nearby unit heard the woman's cries and ran out to help, believing she might have been sexually assaulted.

The naked man ran away carrying only the woman's keys and a can of soft drink, police said.

The two men from the neighbouring unit unsuccessfully chased the man, who was last seen heading into the unit block's car park.

A short time later, police received calls from people reporting a naked man in Riley Street, Surry Hills.

Police have seized the blanket for forensic testing and have appealed for information to track down the man.
I won't go into a news war with K.I.L.L.E.R so don't say it, I wonder what kind of a man would go rob a woman wearing nothing but a blanket
