Regarding the device drivers, should you just use windows xp ones? Alot of devices are old and not really supported actively any longer so no windows 7 drivers (yet).

Im talking about LAN drivers, sound drivers etc.

Thanks.

What?

If you are using Windows 7 on very old hardware, and Windows 7 doesn't come with drivers, the XP drivers are not likely to work. You can always try, maybe you'll get lucky. It's definitely a last ditch effort thing.

Windows 7 will work with Windows XP drivers, just make sure you use XP32 drivers with Windows 7 32bit and XP64 drivers with Windows 7 64bit.

Driver use priority is as follows: 7 > Vista > XP

Try to use drivers in that order.

For me, all i needed to run was Windows Update, it found drivers for all my devices, except the webcam one didnt work, had to install Vista´s one.
And for my usb-ps2-like-controller, to enable force feedback.

Yeah, this is the way to do things when it comes to old drivers.
