I don't know if I'm the only one who has known this problem for a very long time, and im sorry if someone already posted it but, whenever I play a song with the windows media player it sounds totally different than it is supposed to be...on winamp it sounds normal but in wmp the vocals aka the voice always sounds more like he's singing in some huge room and the vocals never get trough this way and the other sound effects get smothered away too at times wich is really annoying..I checked all the sound effects and changing the equalizer also does nothing...I really need help on this since I gave up using winamp and want to use wmp but this thing is REALLT getting on my nerves cause I cant hear the vocals come trough...

Thx

1. make sure audio card is updated fully
2. make sure wmp is updated
3. make sure your codec's are valid ones (not lame rip off's that alot of folks get)
4. make sure your actual audio card is set correctly because alot of cards have settings amongst themselves changable via control panel

hope this helps some

Could be the equalizer settings or the SRS WOW Effects.
Open up Windows Media Player goto Now Playing, then click view (on the top menu), then goto Now Playing Tools and Select 'Show Equalizer & Settings'...
If you go back on to Now Playing you will see a small bar at the bottom it should say SRS Wow Effects... see if this is turned on, if it is, turn it off (ie. Disable it).
Now next to were it says SRS Wow Effects click the small icon and select 'Graphic Equalizer' it should have a setting name (shown under the ON button) it could be anything, such as 'New Age' 'Rap' etc. Select the icon next to this name and change the setting to default and it should make all songs as they would normally be heard.
Hope this helps

Does it do it in Media Player Classic or Media Player 6.4?
