I've been using 7RC since it was released, and never got such issue.

I use a CRT monitor, I've yet to see an LCD screen that makes me want to replace it.
(alright, I've seen one or two but the price made me run away... fast)

It doesn't go below 640x480, but it looks as it should. And the monitor reports the
resolution change properly, therefore, it's not "fake".

I use a series 7 GeForce, so maybe there's something introduced on the drivers for the Series 8+ ?

Hmmm... from versions 191.xx, I've lost 640x480 completely. Adding it manually seems to work for some programs but others crash (like GSDX for fullscreen in Dx9 mode).

And now trying the onboard GF8, it has no real 1280x960... every 1280xYYYY resolution is just 1280x1024 with less view space. Also, lost [email protected] since even when trying to force it, it's just [email protected] =_="

#EDIT: Resolutions successfully added.

When adding the custom resolution, the timing was at DMT (automatic had same result). Using GTF did the trick, GSDX still crashes on 640x480 though.

I just made the custom resolution selecting GTF timing, and it worked. It was on DMT by default for some reason (clean driver install) and Automatic gave same bad results.

And yeah, never saw scaling options for CRTs either... =_="
