I recently downloaded ePSXe onto the Win2K boxes here at my job, and everything seems to be fine except the CDR plugin. When I use the 1.4.0 core, the dos window reads:
* Running ePSXe emulator version 1.4.0.
* Memory handlers init.
* ePSXe: PSX BIOS loaded [C:\MULTIMEDIA FILES\EPSXE\Bios\SCPH1001.BIN].
* Init Core W2k cdrom ... * gettrackinfo error[4]
[D] ok
* Doing init gpu...
* Gpu open...
* Direct input init ok.
* Doing spu init...
* Spu open...
* NTSC cdrom detected.
* W2k buf read error[4] 0 2 16

Fine, sez I. No ASPI layers installed, Pete's CDR 1.7 can do it, at least that's what the page tells me. I install Pete's plugin, and lo and behold, I can't even set it to anything, let alone Win2K raw read. I know about ForceASPI, the problem is that the computers here use profiles, which means I can't modify system stuff.
So I guess my basic questions are: Am I screwed? Can I not run ePSXe without an ASPI layer?
Finally, after reading the cdr_readme file, it says that if it won't let you choose a cdrom, then that mode isn't supported. That I don't understand because the computers here are installed with CDRW drives. Grrr...anyway, if anyone can help me with this, I would be very happy.
