Some games do not recognize my xbox controller. The only games that do are Cyberpunk and Battlefield V. I downloaded a Far Cry game direct from unisoft and my controller wouldn't work. Downloaded the same game from Steam and it worked but I had to go in to the controller settings for the game and use xbox controller override. Same with Apex. My girlfriend has an xbox controller on her PC and does not have this problem. I am hoping I can get this to do the same thing Steam does.

Try:

1. Enable the .NET Framework 3.5 in Control Panel (Win8-Win10)
2. Then install DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010)

First of all, based off what you've said so far, we can't tell what XBox controller you're using (e.g., XB360, orig XB1, or BT XB1). Also, you would need to make sure Windows has automatically installed the appropriate drivers or you'll need to install them manually. And worse comes to worse, if you're using an XB1 controller, possibly try installing DS4Windows to see if that helps.

Another possibility would be the need to run the application in compatibility mode with Windows 7 or earlier.
Far Cry is from 2004, Battlefield V is from 2018, and Cyberpunk 2077 is from 2020.
