Yes.
they are compatible for sure?
Your firmware doesn't play any role in the save games.
weird my friend went from psp 1000 3.x firm to psp 2000 5.x firm and some of his saves didnt work
Never had that problem. He probably screwed something up.
while i have yopur attention mind if i ask you a question?

is it worth buying a PSP for CFW? I found some 2000s with 3.8 firmware on them, that means they are CFW able right? Im borrowing my sisters to play Crisis Core right now and its the only game on PSP that really shouts PLAY me because i am a hue FFVII fan. So far it is really fun.

Are there other games like this? Is the system worth 180 bucks + 60 bucks for the Pro Duo 8gig card? if i get CFW

And also, 3.8 CFW is an ok model of psp for moding right?
This doesn't have anything to do with emulation whatsoever.
Agreed, moving. :)

I suppose it all comes down to what something is really "worth" to you. For me, it's not worth it. I paid $200 for a portable that has no game support. I installed CFW and now I just basically use it as a portable emulator. A few good games have come out for the PSP, but those are relatively few and far between.

I have my original PSP-1000 with a TA-079 board. I don't plan on "upgrading" to the 2000 or 3000. As for buying a 2000 model for the purpose of homebrew and convenience, you need to make sure you purchase the right model. Supposedly, the newest board revision on the 2000s has properly blocked CFW installations and blocks the Pandora Battery method. Check the SKU on the box or the serial number behind the battery. Google around to find the proper SKUs/serial numbers.
