Well we need more information, like plugin settings, system specs, etc. Have you tried raising offscreen drawing?

You tried using Pete's OpenGL 2.x?
You tried playing with 'off-screen drawing'?

Wild arms 2 can be messy if you don't have the settings right. I had a time with this one, but this configuration works perfectly.

If you can understand all that, that is. I tried the game with Peops soft driver 1.16, and no menu in battle, just like you said. Basically don't turn on any special graphical enhancements for this game, and it won't give you any trouble. Oh, and whatever you do, DON'T turn on 'read subchannel data' for the cdrom driver. This will cause a lockup in battle after using arms bullet abilities.

eh, i wouldnt use petes OpenGL 2.x as it specifically coded and designed for higher end cards with 128MB of Ram or higher and directx 9. Petes 1.75 should be fine, and like kamisamavx suggested, becareful with graphical enchancements. A lot of games dont like them.
