Thats the one thing I like about Bill, not only has he already given over $22 Billion, but in his will, almost all of it goes to charity. Only a small fraction goes to his kids.

Completely agreed.. I think Microsoft is a great company and Bill Gates a great person.
When people type stupid crap like, "M$ is teh evilzzzz" .. it's usually bandwagonning with no real knowledge.

MS is a productive company who has a huge impact on the PC industry. What people had against it was it's monopoly policy, which leaves most competitors outside the ring. Hence, people started to call it "evil" ( they do have a point back then). Nowadays, it's been labelled "evil" with or without a reason >_>; '

Having worked for them last year in a third party sense, People still have reason to call them evil...
Take DRM for instance, a very, very bad thing for consumers, but will make them millions in kickbacks from media groups like the RIAA and the MPAA.
Take there internet service...they don't give a flying tetsy fly about the consumer, If one calls in they do not care if the issue gets resolved. All they care is that the technician is nice so their image isn't tarnished.
Take lindows , They sued (May still be trying to sue) because they say they OWN the name windows and lindows might hurt the name brand. So if you are driving along you can't roll down your window, you have to roll down that piece of glass you can see through.
Take the purposely placed bugs in ALL Windows operating systems. Placed so that the customer keeps needing to come back to purchase upgrades, and Premium tech support...(To those that may say thats a lie, I recieved an email specifically talking about the purposely placed bugs From MS themselves when I was working for them.)

About Lindows, maybe it's because MS don't want to be leeched?
And who believe chain mails :lol: (or is it "work" mail?)
And about monopoly, it actually helps the development of the PC industry because there is a common OS (although the price is high :???: )

MS is not evil, the problem is that people are envy of Billy G and just to make him fall they say all sorts of **** about him and MS.
Extreme DRM just plain sucks,Windows Activation is resonable to me as you only need to do it once per fresh installation or major upgrade then you're done but ones that crash a PC just by inserting a CD (music) or Steam that sometimes has problems is just execsive, it just seems like to keep the 5% from pirating your software you shut all of them out
To me it's just more convinent to type M$ than Microsoft since many people will reconise it

Seriously, on some points I hate m$ (DRM, monopoly, $>justice, etc, expensive crap...)
and on some others like them (WindowsXP is fine, bugged serial keys in their softwares that makes them usable without crack, most compatible OS)

well MS is not evil but being a powerhouse in the computing industry, it tries to use its muscle to gain monopoly on other competitors... but I am not against it because due to the fact that "Microsoft has been instrumental in bringing computing to ordinary people" is true...

I think microsoft is crappy because, well, I'm looking at it, I'm using it, I mean windows!!!! they make them so crappy that everytime they make a new one you have to buy it because the one before is so god damn crappy, and you get verrry disappointed because the new one is also so crappy, also you can't buy any other OS because nothing works on it because everything has been designed to work on windows!!

M$ windows is still much more common than any othere system, that's why we all know about so much bugs in it... also that 'story' with putting special bugs in it, I think it could be true... as for that M$ want to be a monopolyst we all know it's true, everyone and everything is evil, in some part :evil:

Crappiness has always plagued Windows, but they made a good progress when releasing XP IMO... it's very rare here to see BSOD/weird bugs/memory leaks, and I almost never reboot since I have it. On 98SE I had to reboot at least 5 times per day when it worked 'fine'
