I use Pete's dx gpu. When I click the 'fast' preset on the gpu config everything works fine (but looks ugly).

When I change to 'nice' or make my own adjustments the sound goes all choppy during the intro.

How can I fix this? Making modifications to the SPU makes no difference.

Thanks

Hmm...could you post your settings? It may be something as simple as setting the MDEC filter.

Your best bet is to post your system specs and plugin settings so that the folks here can provide you ideal settings for your system

heh, i would not recommend D3D for a 9800XT. at the very least, use OGL. it looks a little better, plus it has correct (true) subtractive blending. with your setup, you can run OGL2 easily; you might want to look into that.

It doesn't matter that much when it comes down to PSX emulation. The OGL2 plugin is more advanced and has better features than D3D, so just stick with that one. You should try raising the internal resolution as well, which is something the D3D plugin can not do.
