i don't think I've seen a thread with so many 4000+ posters here before....

came here for the ePSXe help, stayed for some N64 help, hang around incase PS2 emulation gets off the ground a little better. I like laughing at warez hunters too. They make me laugh. I'll also help whenever I can (not often).

It's also nice checking the news in the news submission as the front pages isn't updated very often (because its broken, If i remember correctly).

Possible Spin-off topic: how the mods/admins became mods admins

Woah, I just realized that its (just) over 4 years since my official registeration at NGemu. Though I had been lurking on psxemu for quite some time.

Why do I come back here? Well, I spent an important chunk of my growing up period on NGemu (16-20) and this place sure has influenced in my mental growth and maturity. Its my "neighbourhood from teen days" and you can't help but to love being at your favourite community.

Primary reason is simple, my emotional bond towards the old members of these forums.
Then time and again, I get all sorts of technical inputs from all kinds of gurus here :p

All in all, me gonna be a part of this community as long as it is running, or as long as I'm alive and as long as registeration is free. lol.

I kinda miss the old days when I was called names by admins, I'd flame Syed Fawads and Ninjas on DC / Sega related discussions, I'd drive Protos and Boltzmanns nuts by turning their points against them just because I am an ass and I'd make people believe Elly was indeed a chick... *sigh* but now I have risen to a new plane: pkill and killsteal on MMORPGs!!11!
Heh, I remember when you had first signed up and came to state why DC is better than PS2. lol.
Man, whatever you used to think back then :p
Anyways, I still don't properly understand why you left as you left during the period of my inactivity.

That includes many others like me and Samor who voluntarily got their post count reset to 0 at one point or other.

Seriously speaking I think these are some moments I can never forget :

1. My Ngemu signup day. (I think shiori also signed up on the same day).

2. My first question post. (I think I was trying to find a solution to white boxes around characters problem in silent hill. Some people still look out for that solution).

3. First beta testing with Nickk's plugin. (That gave rise to testing a lot of emus after that, it was real fun when Darkwatcher called me Universal Beta tester). ;)

4. Conspiracy thread.

5. The plan.

6. Making of savestatecentral. (Many people helped, keith gave me webspace and also made me an [email protected]).

7. Day when I was promoted to [email protected]

And many many more....... :D

I remember I had to reregister when the forums changed... I originally joined PSXEmu when it was very small, mostly because I left the bleem! boards and searched a different spot to talk about ps emulation stuff. It was a German/English forum at the time. Then the site "grew up" and became a really great PS emulation resource, and later Next-Gen in general :)

5. The plan.
I remember that :p

hmm ... I was supposed to spend more time on that one

You still can ;)

I think that was a real good batch of members who got admin. status at that time.

I remembered two more things.

8. Difference of opinions between admin.(that was all in private admin. thread so not many people know about them). ;)

9. My little experiment when I signed up as a new member and created stir among administrators.

I used to be a news poster and admin here (back in the PSXEmu days) .. too bad Bobbi and I never saw eye to eye. Imagine that duo now (if I was still interested in emulation). ;)

Ahh now thats a great idea, tell our highlights of ngemu xD

Lets see

1. My register day, did it becouse my GF intruduced me to FF and i got hooked, she borrowed me the game and i had to play it on PC xD i head a few things about emulation but didnt knew much. To be honest i dont recall how i found this forum.

2. My first rule break :p I double posted on diferent forums couse i wasnt sure on what forum to put it in xD

3. When i met Sxamiga, he's the mod that warned me about the double post, he couldnt be more polite and then we got along pretty well.

4. My second rule break. I ASKED FOR A BIOS!! OMG WTF!!11!! xD (i read the rules from start to bottom after that and learned my lesson :p)

5. The posts about beer with Samor xD (probably the second person i got along well in this forum)

6. I became an Emu maniac and was posting configs for ePSXe for all the games i could find.

7. The suposed death of emuforums and the birth of Ngemu. (i really though it was going down untill neojag told me to look at the background lol)

8. The frustration about not know what the plan was.

9. Seeing my idea beeing used in Nickk's plugin and seeing my nick on the changelog was one of the happiest days on NGemu :p (of course i was a kid back then)

10. The day i turned into N64 emulation and got hooked to Zelda.

hum can't recall any more stuff xD

Why did you guys wanted to have your postcount reset to 0 again?

@ Samor: Was it because you wanted to reach the 10.000 again without Spamoring? :p

Heh, I think I signed up because I was a bigtime FF fanboy back in the days, and there were a lot of FF threads as well, and this seemed like a nice place to hang out. Later I did have some emulation questions or general computer questions. Other than that I have never been anything more than a regular, until I got my DC in 2003.

I still remember making a thread about how MGS Bleemcast rocks, and I got a reply by Rand himself, that really surprised me because I didn't know he was a member :D

If it weren't for Emuforums I probably would have never bought a DC in the first place. Because it were the stories about the games and of course emulation that made me buy it (Nester DC being the primary reason).

The plan sure is something that can keep new guys wondering, you weren't the only one Metalmurphy. And the same goes for the Maggots vs Batards stuff, which I now finally understand, but I just signed up right after that chapter.
