After considering the fact that so many people visit these forums, I was wondering what brings them here ? Emulation needs ? Fun stuff ? curiosity or emotional attachment ?
Personally I think I am so much attached to the forums that I cant live without it. Tried leaving this place 3-4 times but only to come back again.
So what's your opinion ?

Note: There may be more than one option that you like but you have to select the best of them.

Does addiction fall under the emotional bond category?

I think my main reason for visiting this site several times a day is because I just feel at home, as far as you can call a website like that :)
It's a place to have fun by just talking about almost everything, it's a place for good discussions which you eventually can learn from. Also another reason would be because it never hurts to help out a newbie when it comes to psx emulation, even though Hushy and DBHankins do that most of the time, whenever I can help I will.

Also I think it is nice to see how there are quite a few DC fans at Emuforums and I seem to be the only one who's posting DC related emulation news. As a DC nutter I enjoy spreading whatever news I am able to pick up from other forums, especially when I see it is appreciated by a couple of members here :)

In short: The best thing about this forum is its community, without them, there wouldn't be anything :D And when I look back at last summer, I think in an indirect way signing up at this forum has been a very important thing in my life.

The biggest reason I visit these forums is because I'm a game emulation enthusiast. I started coming here back in the days when PS1 and N64 emulation was big and I kept up with the news on that. I started posting in the forums because I needed help with my memory card data on ePSXe one day and I've been here every since. I can say without a doubt that I've learned a lot about games and emulation from a lot of you and it allowed for me to have an open mind when it comes to discussing things not only relating to games and emulation but life itself.

The forums has a home away from home feel and i guess that's why I keep coming back. :D

Well...they made us an admin..so there is the responsibility aspect. There is also the fact that we have been here from the beginning. A part of us feels that if we leave then we take with us some of the NGEmu history. Our emulation needs have tapered somewhat, but we get along with some of the members here.

I'm hooked. I love this place. I used to come here just for news, but now it's more about seeing the people everyday (which also has me going into the IRC channels pretty much everyday too).:p

At first I didn't really expected to stick with you guys, I needed some ePSXe help back then but now I master it perfectly and still hope for a new release even tho that current version is perfect. Then I've stopped coming for personal reasons.. heck I didnt need you guys anymore. :p.. but I came back a few years back and started to post here and there... and now I love you all (AWWWW!!) :)

Yeah, i'm not here for emulation or stuff like that now. It's just to be with you, my second family :).

After reading above posts I have an amazing feeling, a feeling that I cant describe but something really really special. Especially after reading posts from Metalmurphy , Xeven, dpence, Darkwatcher & Mad. All of us joined in early psxemu days. Those were the days....................

/me reminds of Shiori, Ryos, Betamax, Shadowlady, Zephon, Firegl, Sxamiga, Kane, Samor, Fivefeet8, Ckemu, Bobbi, keith, Raziel, Syed, Elly, Boltzmann, Emu authors, plugin writers & many many Others Wow....... We have had some great posters in the past.

And the best thing is that the fun continues.........

Long live my Ngemu family :)

I like the people, the community. The emotional bond to the forums keeps me coming back, because next gen emu news are quite sparse. I left a bunch of times but newer managed to stay way, its something about this place that pulls you back in. The only place I was registered longer is backup-source, I think, but I haven't been there in ages, so it doesn't count..

Interesting to see that I've been here for a longer time than you have, even though it doesn't feel like that, especially when looking at your postcount :p

Seeing how many of the members named by Prafull aren't posting anymore, or not as much as they used to do, I'm surprised to see we didn't get many of those 'oh how I miss those old days' threads last year. I remember a year ago there were quite some threads in which members complained about the boards being boring and how they missed some of the good old fun (I suppose from the Batards vs. Maggots era right before I signed up). This is definately a good sign imo :)

Heh, and it seems Popuri is the about the only female member who is able to survive in this harsh climate :p

postcount is nothing to me...but it feels like it's been forever, even though it's only been two and a half years. when i think about it, im a noob....i saw a classmate playing FF7 on ePSXe in april 2003 and that was the first time i saw PSX emulation. i literally could not believe my eyes...and look what i got myself into :p
