Since I don't have the playstation I can't compare the SPUs basically. Iori's Spu sounds more accurate in my opinion but the background music doesn't end properly. Null's plugin doesn't sound as good as Iori's but it BGM doesn't drag on when its suppose to stop. My sound card is a creative sound blaster live value btw.

What are your SPU settings for the most accurate sounds on FF9?
What is the best setting for FF9 with Iori's SPU??

I love Null2's 1.3 Sounds great for me. My music is fine and ALL of my sound effects come out perfect. There are certain things that won't play out the way they're supposed to but it's much better than the other SPU's.

I have an SBLive x-gamer which is basically the same thing as what you have. Try it out. I bet you'll like =)

If you're looking for good sound I'd still say Null2. The internal SPU sounds crappy to me. Not a bad suggestion as it is the most compatible but it lacks good sound quality. I'll give up a few unimportant sound effects for 16 bit 44100hz sampling.
