well..... from what I can tell you, a lot of customers have complained about pentium..... and I prefer athlon, the thing is that athlon is not very popular here in Colombia, but it's worth your money...:)
Once you switch to amd.................then forget intel............once U switch to Intel then remember a amd...........simple.........!

ummm... I have to say AMD (I do have one), but only because P4's plain and simple suck. You know it's bad when a PIII 1 gig out performs a P4 1.7 gig. It used to be AMD for the price, but now since Intel isn't overpricing as bad, it's a different story.
Seems more appropriate in hardware. I prefer AMD's processors for the moment. Intel has really dropped the ball with the P IV, but AMD may not make the right moves.
Maybe AMD proccesor´s are better than Intel´s proccesors, but if we go to past Intel has ever surpase AMD the only real competition is Athlon vs Pentium III, and now Athlon XP vs Pentium 4 where Athlon XP is the winner,
but only two generations of AMD do the competition, so if we compare for companies Intel has win, but if we only compare Athlon and Pentium there is an advantage from AMD isn´t I right???

All world say YES !!!!!!!!
Id buy and Athlon XP, i jes bought one myself and I'm completely satisfyed with it :)
I never used an Athlon before, but I know from tests and other people's reviews that it's better than Pentium. I'm using my PentiumII(at that time the AMD's flagship was K6-2), but soon I'll be buying another pc, which will be an Athlon for sure.
The PIV Northwood could surprise more than one person:rolleyes: .

No Intel technology surprises me anymore ;)

Wait until The hammer series hit the road, and you'll see the 'Real' Bad Ass :D
AMD's doing pretty good right now, although Intel's still on top (market-wise). We'll see if Intel can reclaim the throne when the real Pentium 4 gets here.
The Willamette was never intended to be the mainstream processor. It's just an introductory chip to prepare the way for the Northwood, or so I heard.

Let's hope it's true and the Northwood can show us some real performance. I'm tired of seeing no competition between Athlon and P4.
athlon all the way with more bang for the buck :)
right now, the AMD athleon XP's are owning Intel's P4.
and recent advances in transistor development by AMD will ensure the company's future.
