Hi to all of u.

I m wondering myself which console to buy.
PS2 or GC ? (I don t want to hear anything about the Xbox heh)
Forget all the technical specs and think about the companies and developpers involved in each console.

I was sure to buy a PS2 when ff10 will come out in US.
But when I see that square is heading to Nintendo GC too...
I m very confused...I now that the sentence "let s wait and see" is very handful at times like those ones.
But I want to hear ur opinion about it...

Thx a lot

In my opinion......................
For now I must tell you you PS2 is most console you must get.
In here PS2 tide is very high.Everyone are talk about PS2.
But you know something GC not release yet.I think you sholud wait for GC out(GC not even out yet I don't know anything about it).I believe price of PS2 will drop for sure. When that time come you can make your decision...........

man, that's a hard question!

logically, Nintendo might have an upper hand at future game availability. Afterall, Nintendo over the years has developed a lot of blockbuster titles themselves (it's me, Mario! hehe) But look at Sony, they hardly made anything themselves. Sure, the N64 did suffer severely from lack of 3rd party games, but that's not because it was a Nintendo... it was because it used cartridges, I think. Look at the DC, it got tons of game companies releasing for it, when Sega was still producing it. Hopefully the Gamecube will enjoy the same, or better, support that SNES had, by using a disc format.
Yeah, PS2 plays a lot of those PSX games, but how long will that last? History suggests that backwards compatiblity in consoles have some but limited appeal. A player with tons of PSX games might simply keep that PSX and buy a GC, instead of trade it in for a PS2 and save $30, but that's just my speculation.

to sum it up, I would say anything the PS2 will do, the GC will do just as well or better.

after saying that, tho, i think i need a disclaimer: any purchase decision you make is not my responsibility :p

Right, but just one question, which are you reffering to?
I just can't see any available game that justify the price of the PS2.

Unless Xenosaga appears on another console, the PS2 does appear to be in my future at some point and time. But not for any time in the forseeable future. As far as the GC is concerned, I haven't seen anything too interesting announced for it yet, but it's certainly a better list than the X-box. I'd suggest to wait and see what happens in a couple months.

Well if Sqaure is gonna go back to Nintendo , then now I don't know which one to buy... the only reason I sold my N64 to get a PS was because of Sqaure's FF series movement into Sony... man. Now I can't decide  ... wait ! I know... I'll just buy both...(buy a PS2 now, then wait until GC is out and buy it .. this approach may not be very economical , but it elimates you having to regret making the wrong decision... and prevents u from going insane:eyemove: :smash: over it... ) :)

I was reffering to both systems actually. You never know, Sony may have some "gotta buy it" games later on, PSX didn't really have any good games when it launched either, and for a couple years after that :heh:

I do think Nintendo has the best chance, mainly becuase they aren't overestimating themselves, like Sony and Microsoft. They are being more realistic about their console. Also remember, just becuase some people who worked at Square are going to GC doesn't mean your getting FF type good games, it is a big possibility however.

I hate XBox/Microsoft also, but unfortunatly they still have a chance.

Also remember, Sega may play a big deciding factor in which consoles people will buy.

P.S. - It really pisses me off that Sega is making Jet Set Radio future for XBox, becuase I liked JSR. I hope they make it for GC and PS2, or else I'll have to mail bomb sega :eyes:  :D

I have just one q.........

WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU WANT TO BUY XBOX??????/

Cuz, you could just buy a computer and do a hell a lot more than a console...........like you can download an emulator and play all systems......duh........but......I bought a PS2 cuz it does have a good reputation, and it has like a million games.........and other stuff........well, thats just an opinion......

Total BS.

Are Rogue Squadron 2,Metroid Prime,XG3,Turok 4,Virtua Striker(and a lot more games)destinned to kids?
Sorry but just don't say what the poor brained guys say,the only real difference between Sony and Nintendo is their commercial strategy,a lot of people bought PS2 cause it is called "PlayStation"2,so they thought:"Wow,PS1 was a great success, the second will be too",sorry, but no,PS2 just isn't what they promised us.I really hate the fact that they called it PlayStation 2,they just wanted to use the PS1 success(and the next one will be called PS3,they already told it).

I'm 20(not a kid anymore I believe)and I plan to buy a GameCube rather than a PS2(maybe I'll buy one later for MGS2).
