I'm wondering what is the best audio plugin to play this game without any audio glitches. With the two I've tried, SPU2-X 1.1.0 and P.E.Op.S SPU2 1.9.0, I have experienced some form of audio glitching that ruins an otherwise flawless emulation. I should note that I usually use the peops plugin since it sounds the best when it works, but every once in a while the sound degenerates to something horrible and buggy, prompting a restart or patience (in which case it sometimes returns to normal quality).

edit: and on a side note, pcsx2 has been crashing during ff12 plays...wondering if that's to be expected, or if there is a way to fix that as well : ) thanks.

I've switched to SPU2-X recently since it's come along way, but I fall back on ZeroSPU2 when I need something reliable, and able to cope well during slowdown. It's what I use for FFXII.
