When is the new shipment of PS2s coming (jan 2005)

Hello
After years of trying to fight it, I have decided that I need to buy a PS2 so I tried to get my folks to get it for me for christmas and they were all sold out, so now I am waiting for the new shipment to arrive here in Miami , Florida and there's still no sign of a new shipment. If this lasts much longer I will just wait till the price gets lowered, whenever that may be...
If you guys know anything on any of the those two issues (new shipment/price drop) Please post them here, I am sure there are others with the same situation.

Dont' expect a wealth saving price cut, until some new next gen console is released. All that U'll get is about a 10-20 dollars saving and personally I dont think its worth the wait. So grab it when U get the chance.

Shipments. Company's policies man, no idea.

Yeah I work for K-Mart in Jax florida and we haven't had a ps2's since BEFORE christmas, and everybody tells me they are out, thank God my good old first release is still chuggin along (after some slight moddifications to the cd drive).

Are you talking about the newest "slim" PS2? If you are, then I don't understand why you don't have them yet in Florida. I live in California and we have had them here since before Christmas. I have one and I really like it.

They sold out before christmas and haven't seen one since then...I am afraid of the old style PS2s because of the DVD drive, everyone I know has had problems with their DVD getting Disc read errors or the tray motor not working, only to try to fix them or sell it to EB or gamestop for 30 bucks.

wow. i thot that talk about ps2 shortage was a stupid rumour. here in Toronto theres plenty of slim ps2s around and not to mention some of the normal ones.

im glad my ps2 (old style) is working perfectly fine tho.

I haven't seen 'new' PS2s in any of the local stores where I live, but Venango County, PA isn't that big, so maybe there's a delay in the 'smaller' regions getting PS2s?

are you serious, EB take ps2 for only 30 dollar..thats increbibly cheap... :cuss2: then they sell it back for 119 dollar...thats 89 dollar higher..

Yep I guess is the price they pay for being stubborn... there are places in the internet or internets (had to throw that one in) where you can find lots of info on how to bring your PS2 back to life.
I head that someone was suing the microsoft because he bought several xboses that stopped working within a year... How come no one sues SOny, I hear way too many people that have their systems have some type of problem within 2 years and their not the RPG playing type either.

Hmmmm, My Gamecube is 2 1/2 years old. Thanks for making me nervous!
My Playstation died after 6 years of use.
My Super Nintendo after 7 years of use.
My Dreamcast was barely a year old *but under warranty* thank God!
My first Sega Genesis barely lasted a year but it was under warranty and the replacement is going on 11 years old.
My Nintendo 64 is used. I have no idea how old it is.

I just got my new PS2. Quite frankly it looks kinda cheap especially the the top lid DVD cover, they also show it with the vertical stand but its not included, all games look great especially Elemental Gear bolt and it loads really fast. Got the SCPH- 70012 not that it matters. Thanks Everyone!

They finally have Playstations at the local Wal Mart, but I have to pay off a RW-DVD player I layed away.

Yeah paratech I got mines at walmarts. Grandia looks great! Still slows down way too much tho.

EB and GameStop online stores both just got them in... however, I couldn't find just the console... they all sold bundles (either with a game, or with an extra controller + memcard).

I CAN'T PLAY CASTLEVANIA SYMPHONY OF THE NIGHT ON MY NEW PS2. is this normal on all ps2s? I'm posting a threat on it right now!
