Im trying to run mario kart, all seems fine until the cart is on the track then the graphics go bad and can't see it.

I have a quadcore proc, 4gb of ram, and an ati x1950xt (directx9 ) card

Which Mario Kart? Wii or Double Dash? If its wii, use the OpenGL plugin.
