All I see here are topics that should be in "problems with games" and topics that should be in "generic epsxe queries".
The discription misleads you into thinking this will actually have a compatibiliy list or something. But it... doesn't...
also there's the sticky thread full of outdated infromation (topics being moderated at creation)...

EDIT : is there even a need for a compatibility list now? If so, maybe the purpose of the forum should be revived? That would be nice - a compatibility list is always useful to newcomers, you could sticky one in the other epsxe forums to reduce frequent questions!

AFAIK there was a compatibility list for every PSX emu, for example ePSXe... but it was lost some time ago (updating NGEmu or how it was I don't remamber now) and about forum? I think it's purpouse is: if you have a problem with game you go here do a search, and if you haven't found solution for your problem you post here :)

Also you have to notice, that there's not much left to do in PSX emulation... todays emus are almost perfect have realy small problems with emulating console, what makes hard to find them :)

Oh. sucks it was lost...

Well.. that's the purpose of the problems with games forum, no? This forum seems identical to it (in what it is now, not in it's original purposes).

then how do you explain the daily queries on problems with games? I think many of those can be avoided with a good compatibility list.
It's true that many games run almost perfectly. Many, however run not so well (Xenogears like crashing, FF9 needs 1.5.2, RE3 needs cd-rom (iso doesn't work with sound)).

yeah, but you have to notice (again ;) that most of problem that are daily posted here are connected with the same games, and problem that have been revived here many times (aka Xenogears, FF9) but posters are too lazy to do a search :)

First of all, you still didn't comment about the fact that this forum is just a sister forum to "problems with games". There's nothing different about it. That situation is confusing and distracting, it also leads to less succesful searches (if people search by forum).

Second of all, people don't search because it's too much work; they prefer to wait 5 hours for an answer instead. However, if, when making a topic on "problems with games", they saw some red text telling them to look at a compatibility thread (because stickies just don't cut it...), they would probably do so and get their answer!

it's pointless... :)

so you think we should make a huge compatibility list (Which is/was on NGEmu.com - see link in my firs post here) and the problem with games forum should be read only?

BTW: look here :)

that link (the one in your last post) is far from helpful :
it requires people to download stuff : -100 points out of 100

and no, I'm suggesting to make a red, big link to the compatibility thread ABOVE the space where you write your topic (maybe a nice lil' threat for getting deleted for asking question already answered in the compat. topic (and not saying that the compat. topic's answer didn't help)). The new guy will probably decide to check it out do to accessability(sp?) and his problems might just be solved. If not - he can continue posting his topic as normal. It's like a search function, except people actually will use it and it's ten times better.

1) There is (currently down due to the recent server hijack, will be up in a short time, hopefully) a compatibility list on ngemu's front page, and it doesn't need anything to be downloaded.

2) About the purpose of this section, it's explained here. BTW, that thread is stickied and it seems you didn't read it ;) . Just as the rules are in the top of the forum's index and you skipped them as well.

you seem to be quite baised against me...
the compatibility list that was is as useful as the search function (useful, but who uses it?)
And I did read the stickied thread, and it only contained outdated information about the purpose. This forum _NOW_ is simply a "problems with games" forum with a different name.
And as for the rules, haven't we've been through that before already? I sent you a PM, hope you'll respond.

What's wrong with downloading some files? Once you put in the initial effort of placing some files, it's quite easy. It even runs the emulator automatically when you put in a recognized disc ;). That's why the whole setup was created in the first place: to make it easier for the average person.

We've actually discussed something similar to that a couple of times in the past and the general consensus was not to do it.

Hmmm.

The initial reasoning behind the creation of this forum has already been explained by I-Chan quite well. It is intended to be an area where users can post compatibility reports. However I must admit that this purpose is most likely obsolete now. I shall raise the issue with the other site admins.

Be that as it may, if I am to be perfectly frank with you I have to suspect ulterior motives behind this thread. Most of your current posts have been of a rebellious nature, often challenging the rules of this site and how it is run. In my eyes this thread is no different.

Currently you are about a hair's length from getting banned. Unless you want that to happen I advise you to stop being so confrontational. It is winning you no favours here.
