K, ive read my physics txt over and over AND searched google and i STILL am not sure wut the heck a phase constant is exactly, whether on a graph OR the physical meaning of it :(. wud some smart cookie please give me a hand, PLS!

EDIT: sorry, wanted to be more specific : phase constant in relation to the simple harmonic motion of a spring hung vertically...

Well... dont rely in my memory too much but IIRC the formulae for a simple harmonic motion was

X = Asen(fx + o)

Where o would be the phase constant, which refer to nothing but to the dephasement with respect of the origin of the start point of the aforementioned wave...
