I was just reading a snipet from a review of the FF movie that Betamax posted. It said that the FF movie is the best movie adapted from a game.
So I'm wondering which other games have had movies based on them. And of coarse I know about Tomb Raider.

Also if you've seen one of these movie please tell if you enjoyed it or not and tell me if the movie stayed true to the game's plot.

Super Mario Bros
Double Dragon
Street Fighter
(Wouldn't recommend ANY of these though)

If you count full-length cartoon/animation, then you'd also have:
Tekken
Battle Arena Toshinden
Fatal Fury

Hmmm, I'm kinda surprised they never made a Legend of Zelda movie. Or did I just sleep through it?

Yeah,the Resident Evil movie sin't completed but the only thing I know is that the main actress is Milla Jovovich(The 5th Element).

Actually there are 2 streetfighter 2 movies . The live action one with Kyle Minogue and Jean Claude Van Damme (Which is on my top ten turkeys of all time) and an anime one... which although is not as big a dross as the live action one is definately still a cure for insomia.

Most of the one that I am aware of have also been mentioned. Thank god there wasn't a sonic the hedgehog one:eyes:

Well,this one isn't a game turned into a movie but an anime turned into a movie:
DBZ,yes they made it,simply horrible(can you imagine a Kamehameha with special effects?).

Raziel: is this the Chinese DBZ movie you're talking about? It's pretty gross..... who would've thought that the Saiyan hair (you know, Goku's and Vegeta's) would look soo cool in the comic book/anime, yet sooo dorky in real life?

Yeah I saw a promo for the live action DBZ. I have stayed away from that movie on purpose.

A few movie studios own the rights to film versions of games, but have yet to produce the movies.. Duke Nukem, Doom, etc..

Nah,it's already been made in Japan,it's based on the boook on which the game is based(the story originally takes place in Tokyo not in New York),and from what I've been told it's not a fantastic movie(not bad but not great either).

Yep Doom has been stuck in development hell since 1994. Originally there was rumors that arnie was even going to play the marine. However that seems less likely now. Although that said, it probably would be a good role for him... after all there is practically no acting involved.

Hopefully the devlopment of Doom 3 will spir some life back into the movie as I think it might have some potential (as a blockbuster that is).

Ps Just as an example the spiderman movie due out nerxt year was stuck in pre production since 1991, Jame Cameron originally was planned to make this movie immediately after T2 but due to legal reasons it got delayed 10 years(by which case Cameron was no longer interested and thus Sam Raimi took over). Hence 1994 isn't that long in comparision.

yeah its a pen and paper game but there have been quite a few games based on its battle system


a little off topic but you could easily do the same type of thing for tv shows
there are alot more of those
