What Else Do I Need To Take Full Advantage Of The Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Sound System?

1) I have bought the new revised Logitech Z-5500 Speakers that come with the new speaker wire.

2) I have a Alienware Area-51m Laptop that comes with an onboard Audio: 5.1 channel out (SPDIF) / Line Out that uses C-Media 3D Audio Configuration Software.

Will my soundcard take full advantage of my Logitech Z-5500 and it's 5.1 Sound capability with THX, Dolby Digital Pro Logic II and DTS Digital Surround Sound? Or do I need a new PCMCIA/USB Sound Card? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! :)

well, you could get one of those PCMCIA audigy 2 card:

then plug your speakers in it, it supports 5.1 and 7.1 on real speakers systems (it's what they say on the site) plus, you get WAY better sounds quality/performance then your current one :p
in fact, most first generation 5.1 onboard sound can switch the line in/mic ports to the center/sub and rear out audio. my previous AMD mobo (A7V8X) had onboard sound that could be changed to 4/5.1 by switching the ports. my old P4 mobo with a SiS chipset can do that too. Same for my cousin's P4S800. The Soundstorm on the A7N8X (normal one) also works like that since there is only 3 audio ports on this one. the -E DX version (mine) already got the ports on the back for rear, center/sub and S/PDIF
