today, when i connected to the internet, this lovely popup appearead (before opening any window, jes by connectiong, the world icon appeared next to the two computers on the tray... now, im not too interested on those cheerleaders, so how do i keep this things from appearing??

You get that message all the time on ICQ. Typical porn spam. I'm not sure if it'll take care of the problem or not, but you should have an option to accept messages only from people you've authorized.

The first and the only time I used ICQ 4-5 messages like this came up and I didnt tried using it again.

well.... I always get those spam messages all the time.... just can't take it, so a friend gave me a patch that allows you to bolock determinate ICQ numbers..... very cool...

Not only ICQ but these days such messages are common on yahoo messenger as well(more popular here in India).I dont know how in the hell these people get my id?

i think computers randomly generates ICQ numbers like spam.

I used to get those messages all the time in icq, but lately I haven't received any. I don't know how long it will last...

those messages annoy me deeply while playing a game and it minimizes it to show me THAT! I've yet ot figure out a way to stop em myself. I have the authorized only messages to me...but still I get them. And I find that the option reverts back to default. Can't quite figure it out. It's extremley bothersome, oh and its real nice popping up when I have my little sister on the PC when she comes over.

I get them on icq too...stupid stuff....goes to the ignore list immediately...not that that helps :/
