Weird netplay problem

My friend and I has been trying out the netplay feature. We are using cyberpad 1.4 and Kaillera client. Everything works well, except there is one problem. Player 2 can see everything Player 1 does, and can move on his screen, but Player 1 can only see himself do things, and sees Player 2 as immobile. I've tried this with 2 different people, we all encountered the exact same problem.

We have the exact same configuration. Is there a fix to this? The game we are trying to play is Tales of Destiny II.
