Hello everyone.
Firstly, I would like to say that in my humble opinion, ePSXe is really the coolest emulator. It enhances the quality of playing PSX games using PC, and the graphic is improves, no doubt about it. Congratulation to the developers of this cool emulator.
Now, into the main issue. I've tried to play several games with ePSXe (mostly RPG, as I'm an RPG fan) and I'm really impressed with the graphic (using the right plugin I assumed). But, I think there is a little bit problem with the sound plugin. As we know, there are some games that are using human voices (I don't know what term to use in this). For examples, Valkyrie Profile and Tales Of Destiny 2 (in conversations and battles), Tales Of Destiny (in battles), Breath of Fire 3 and 4 and Legend of Legaia(in battles) and more. Now, the question is, what is the most perfect sound plugin to be used to make the voices appears correctly and perfectly? I have tried some of the plugin (ePSXe SPU core 1.4.0, Null2's Audio Driver 1.3, Pete's MIDAS Audio Driver 1.7), but to tell the truth, there are still some problems regarding the voices. In my opinion, if the sound problem can be solved and optimized, ePSXe would be the ultimate PSX emulator for PC.
Any opinion is highly appreciated. Thanks.

While there are still problems with getting voices correct in various games, your best bet right now would be to try eternal spu, as the ones you have listed there are rather old and outdated. Pete's dsound is also another highly recommended plug-in to try.

yup some ingame speech in epsxe is missing like lol and bof4 this is the only game i tested and cant make it perfect ingame speech(tried every available plugins and possible config)

tod2 works correctly in iori based spu plugin

I'm having this problem with Grandia and Lunar 2 too.....
(And I was thinking that, buying my new Sound Blaster would solve the problem...)

You could also try starting the emu with the -cdinc command line option. This is known to cure speech problems in some games (most notibly the siphon filter series)

Pete's D Sound, current vers. 1.12 is excellent. It has delivered all sounds and voices perfectly for me. Let me also say that the Internal Spu (that comes built into ePSXe) is now on a par w/any of the others. I'm a beta tester, and I know, I have tried it throughly. That it's for now on the new, upcoming, version.

uhmm for a low spec system like me the internal spu works great

pete's latest dsound release fixes most of my sound problems.
eternal one also works good on few games but slows down the performance.
internal one is good for lower specs for sure.

Before the summer, Null's SPU was one considered one of the best..it's been discontinued for sometime, but parts of it live on in Eternal SPU (which is one of the best SPUs at the moment).

Sorry gerbilcannon, I couldn't resist. But, truthly, I'm not kidding, the internal SPU in the beta version, at least to me, is now as good as any out there. Wait and see, I do believe you will all be impressed.
