Vigilante 8 problem

When i play vigilante 8 on a epsxe 1.7 emulator , while during the game , when you press start to pause, the menu will not show , when i press up or down you can hear the noise when making a selection for example like resume game or exit game or option, but i dont see it, and also at the main menu when you press 1 player and you get to choose quest or arcade you dont see it unless you press up and down i hope you can help me solve this and i know my system at least meets the min sys requirement

My system is Win Xp , P4, 768 ram, 2.6gh Nvidia gforce fx 5200 128mb

Which plugins are you using and what are their respective settings?

try increasing the off-screen drawing setting in the video plugin config menu.
