Like most of you knows it now, I decided recently to buy a new MB and an XP1900+. For the MB my choice was for MSI K7T266 pro2 with the new VIA266A chipset and USB 2. When I installed W98se and W2K, I discovered that MSI doesn't provide any USB2 drivers for this mobo coz Microsoft ones are still in beta.
Ok I still remain with 6 others USB 1 ports.

Surprise, Surprise..... , when inserting my USB joystick (Thrustmaster) I discovered that it's not recognised nor my USB2PSX joystick adapter.

After reading the forums I discovered a well known bug on VIA chipsets who doesn't recognise the USB joysticks (Timing & power issues). there is a patch from Microsoft for their Sidewinder but these one does not apply to me.

on all my USB devices only my Flash Memcard reader is recognised and working (no webcam, no joysticks, no printer,....).

Finally on 2 USB2 and 6 USB1 ports none was opperationnal.

:eyes:

I read in this forums that the only chance to have working USBs is to buy a USB card, so I'll buy one and I'll test it.
:(

SHAME ON YOU VIA:mg:

Can you argue your experiences??:help:

Well, that sucks, huh? You should wait for the drivers to come out or buy a USB2 card (not TOO much more after buying the mother board, right?) I have an ABIT VL6 (VIA Apollo 133 chipset), and I haven't had any problems! Not much else to do, right?

Sorry Nick, but re-read my post.

I already have all these USB ports on my mobo but I can't use them because of inexistent
VIA KT266A and NEC USB2 :rockets: drivers.
The only thing I have to do meantime, is to buy a "compliant microsoft" USB card to use my peripherals and THIS is not writen on the mobo box nor in the manuals.

So don't BUY products without drivers
