Does vgs support directx 8? Cause i borrowed nba live 2k1 pc and it requires directx 8.

Why are you trying to play a PC game in a PSX emulator?

I think the problem with him is he wants to play that pc game but for this he will have to install directx 8 and he wants to make sure that this will have no effect on his cvgs.

So yes go on,theoritically there is no problem in directx 8 and cvgs (I am using these two for quite some time).I dont know why but some people did faced some problems after 2 weeks of installing directx 8 with cvgs (but its 1 or 2 rare cases i guess).

yeah, you're right. So is there a directx uninstaller? In case vgs doesn't work with my comp.

Live 2k1 for the psx is choppy in my computer thats why i'm going to try the pc version.

Is there a Live 2002 for the pc?

Dont worry,go on, everything will be fine.I guess these are all rumours coz I didnt faced the problem myself.Neway there is an uninstaller for directx 8(not sure about just released directx 8.1) So you can revert back to your current directx.

BTW the reson why i like the nba in pc over psx is because it has a nice graphics its swwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeetttttttt

ok, I have a geforce2 with the official detonator drivers and VGS doesn't work for me...it's not direct8's fault, but the fault of my video drivers sucks for me.

resurrecting an old thread, I just realized VGS doesn't work no more after my upgrade. i dunno if it's with the drivers or DX8, but I really want to get it up and running again.

Yup, some threads don't die
If you have a geforce or TNT card try a really old detonator driver...like version 6.18 or earlier (5.xx).
it's a pain to downgrade drivers...but that's better than uninstalling directX.

where can I get old drivers? i think the drivers that came from my card were released in october....

vgs works fine here with the latest detonators...

Only thing I know is it doesnt run with XP...

I wonder what could be wrong..... I could try reformatting my C partition and take it from there, but i'm sensing that's taking it to the extreme....there must be some other way to tropubleshoot this....

what exactly is the error you're getting? I had huge problems with VGS after installing my keyboard drivers (it's one of those keyboard with special buttons that require a driver). Fortunately the drivers were improved later and the problem was gone.

Easiest way to use old directx version is reinstall windows (No need to format).

i dunno why your getting that problem but i use dx 8 and no problem at all same as 8.1(just upgraded recently) the only problem i get in 8.1 is nvmax doesnt work good so i had to use riva tuner

I wish I know. maybe I should've tried running it first under DX7 before I upgraded it to DX8....but since I was too eager to try out DX8 i completely forgot. -_- ePSXe is working great now, but i'd still like to play my 2D RPGs using VGS (like Tactics Ogre)

[edit] Samor, the screen just goes black after i run the exe. Nothing happens after that, and I have to shut it down using task manager.
